    Bit more done..

    Out with the rust...

    nsrfloor005.

    nsrfloor007.

    nsrfloorrepaired002.

Filler was hiding some lovely welding :wack:

    bellhousingfloor003.

Chopped the water traps off the rear corner, i'll drill the holes for the bumper mounts and weld the towing eye bracket on at a later stage.

    bellhousingfloor004.

I can't repair the rear panel/floor pan while the car is on the spit so i'll remove the rust from there at a later stage.

Patch work quilt springs to mind....:wack: :wack:

    Deffo you Taff :D

To be honest i bet the majority of 86s that havent already had some serious resto work done on em are like that if you stripped em down and had a good look.

And once its minted up, no worries for a long time at least, good work.

I think the jury is out on that Bryn....

Got to agree with you on that Stav, makes me wonder what state some of the 86's are in when you get deep down. I knew the car was a bit rough when i bought it but never thought it would be quite this bad. But, as you say at least when she's done she'll be good for a while

    It continues...

    morerepairs002.

With a little help from a 4 inch grinder, a drill with a 6 mm bit to drill out the spot welds and my trusty hammer and chisel i removed the rust.

    morerepairs003.

    morerepairs011.

    morerepairs012.

    morerepairs021.

    morerepairs018.

    morerepairs020.

    morerepairs022.

The result from a good fews hours work.

    morerepairs023.

The sill will be done at a later stage.

I was getting grief from my other half so never got time to finish the suspension section or wheel arch section

looking good man - doing all this now is the right thing to do - you'd only have to tear it apart again if you didnt

By the time you are done you'll be able to build a fresh corolla shell from scratch cos you've worked so much flat steel into toyota shapes

I consider us 86 brothers very 'eco' friendly - instead of just buying new shiney cars just recycle old ones instead. We should get a roadtax rebate or something LOL.
