Another odd question for MK1 Escort.... LSD

So, looking to fit a LSD to my MK1 Escort.... seems simple enough, but nope. Because its a South African the rear axle is quite different and I am struggling to find what diff is compatible.

If anyone has any info, it would be greatly appreciated.

There is the option of replacing the rear end, but I cannot find much info on what parts are required, etc. Not finding much in the way of parts for a complete swap to an English Axle. Only thing I can find is a full motorsport rear axle, which will cost about £3.5k

BTW the car made 180+bhp at Surrey Rolling Road, its running a ST170 engine, throttle bodies, OMEX ECU, ST170 injectors, etc, so it really NEEDS a proper LSD!

 

Looks like the BorgWarner rear is so bad that the only real option is to replace with an English axle. Time to start collecting parts.
