Im looking to run an external wastegate on a stock manifold in order to help with the boost creep experianced on gt2871r's.Has anybody on here done it before, Ive never ran an external wastegate so was just going to buy a good quality brand rather than mess about to much, in particular the Tial Msv, look to fit the bill being small , and V band fitment meaning i can spin it once fitting to suit best. Any thoughts on this type of set-up before i begin chopping away at a stock manifold.
Dunkz has. it worked well enough (IIRC) but always sounded like a tractor. It was never optimum either since he had to take it from No.1 and 4 ports (or possibly just no4, I cant remember)
It was leaking and done wrong then. Loads of people have/do do this, even on this forum. Edd Cobb had this on his SR until recently, Chapman deffo has, quite a few others. Unless it's leaking it won't sound any different until full boost, and if it's mounted vertically above the collector it comes from all 4 cyls.
To be fair, I dunno why this thread exists, I just did a 2sec google and... https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=s...a=X&ei=wCETVP2vH62f7AbV-oCQBA&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ
