Bored at work so have an update peeps:
Started stripping the front end of the new shell for welding, one of the strut tops was rusty and had had an absolutely gash repair and the front crossmember also needed attention. [IMG]

Out came the grinder and I was left with this [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Welded a plate into the strut top [IMG] then zinc primer'd [IMG] needs seem sealing and a skid of filler before I paint the engine bay.

I also filled the other side in with weld to prevent it from rusting

I also filled the random hole nissan put in, that starts to rot out [IMG] [IMG]

Then grinded it all down and primered it [IMG]
That's pretty much where I'm at now, removed all of the brake pipes, master cylinders etc, gonna weld up all the little random holes on the arch, then it will nearly be ready for paint.

Also bought another Ca to chuck in this low mileage with a rebuilt bottom end, also have a head kicking about that I'm gonna sent off to be cleaned, pressure tested etc so should have a nice solid engine for some stage 2 abuse :) [IMG]

Been a busy few days doing bits to the shell, yesterday the new engine turned up on a pallet aswell as a jdm rear bumper, happy days [IMG] [IMG] I've fitted the bumper back on with the rear bumper bar, just wondering if people keep them or just bin them to save weight? It's in there for now anyways.

I also cracked on and removed the dash to get an idea of what looms I need and because I'm gonna try and move all the fuse boxes to the glove box to keep the engine bay tidy. [IMG]

Then began working on the front end to try and get it completely welded up. First I started on the battery tray area as I made a right mess of removing it so a new piece needed to be welded in. [IMG] needs to e attacked with the grinder some more but it's alright for now.

I then moved onto the front cross member I started by welding the back up [IMG]

After that I started cutting metal for the front to get that welded up and solid, however at this point my mate who is doing similar things to his s14 started whinging he couldn't get his dash out, so I ended up doing that while he welded the front panels on, this worked out rather well as he did a shit hot job, while i had the fun job of trying to get his engine bay fuse box and all of its loom into his interior.. Anyway here's the outcome [IMG] now all that's left of the engine pay prep is to weld all the random holes in the arch and paint it.

I also got really bored the other night and made an asbo back section for my exhaust out of my old shotgun [IMG] [IMG]

Been wanting to make up an exhaust similar but haven't found any decent y sections less than 3" - I take it this was a Japspeed exhaust?
Following this thread, should look good with the P1's!

Think it's 3inch into 2.5 so just gonna cut the back box of the current one on the blue s13 and weld this one on! Read through your thread last night great work on the welding car looks ace!

Ah damn, that'll be harder for me to find and cut up then, might just go with a single 3" pipe to get a feel for the noise.
    Cheers dude, it's getting there!

    Update time peeps:

Finished all of the welding in the engine bay, was mainly tedious filling all of the random holes for loom clips etc, I've left a few in for the fuel filter, coil amplifier etc. Also had todo a few patches no pictures of these but it's not that interesting... Now for the exciting bit, primed the engine bay [IMG] also started prepping my wheels [IMG] my buddy came over and sprayed my wheels no pictures of actual painting but here's them after tyres where fitted, thanks to another mate for doing them [IMG] also finally got the engine bay painted and lacquered [IMG] then today i through it all together because I needed to get it rolling [IMG] [IMG][IMG][IMG] really happy with how it looks although I badly need some spacers so if anyone know of anyone with some 25mm 4x114.3 spacers drop me a message! Also want It lower, the fronts are maxed and I've removed the 2 locking collars so can't go any lower atm just hope the weight of the engine etc drops it enough. Also here are some pictures of my friend Mikes s14 that he's been working on while I've been on the s13. It's nearly done just a few wiring niggles. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG] will get some better pictures when it's not dark, hopefully done soon miss driving a cunty nissan!

Well I haven't updated in ages so here goes, car is new or less done!

After putting the engine in I turned my attention to the rear arches as I knew there was abit of surface rust and I didn't want them to end up like my old one.

Started poking and it was quite rotten [IMG][IMG]

Cut all the rot up and welded it all up[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I also did the other side which wasn't as bad [IMG][IMG]

I dropped the tank to do this, while the tank was out I drained the 2 year old fuel and installed a walbro. No pics though.

Then I started putting it all back together. I've relocated the arch looms inside the bay so I can run more lows (ignore the FMIC set up in this picture) [IMG]

I then fitted my fmic properly nice and high and an alloy rad.[IMG] [IMG]
I then picked up some aero from rads s13 on here managed to fit it all in y fiesta 2 up, just haha [IMG] was gonna go with standard aero but it was fairly cheap. Test fitting the bumper [IMG]

I then welded up my shotgun exhaust to my old japspeed system [IMG][IMG]

I also did some welding on the sill but no pictures as I got into it and it was pretty late.

I also had some weird electrical niggles one headlight doing the opposite of the other etc.

That's pretty much all the build pictures I have so here's how it's sitting now [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Would like to say a big thank you to my friends Mike, Russell, Steve and Jack for helping me along the way really happy with it. There's a couple things I need to sort out now it's on the road my power steering doesn't work so I need a new rack and I also wanna raise slightly on the front as the arb scrapes on cambered roads which is pretty aids. Also I need to wind the boost up as I'm currently only running 6 psi [IMG]

Sorry for the mega update. Cheers lads.
