I got some ARP headstuds for my SR,the specs and instructions state to torque to 105lbs in manufactures specs

On a bit of research Iv seen people snap the studs torqing to this figure and did use the ARP lube and ran the studs down by hand first etc

I know these are used often so Im looking for experienced peoples advice on this as Iv spent to much time and money on the engine so far to snp studs in it:(

    Cheers

NO experience with arp studs, but just tighten them down tight till you think there tight enough. screw them all down till the nets are all flat with the surface. Keep tightening till nice and tight, then do 90degree tighten. should be enouhg. But its all by feel

That sounds well dodgy to me!

With ARP main studs you aren't supposed to use lube on the block side, just on the nuts and washers. I've not installed my head studs yet but I'd have thought they'd be the same. Give a specialist a call, I'm sure they wouldn't mind advising you
