    Guys,

Thought i would start a build thread of my first ever drift car. I already own an R32 GTR and have been a big fan of the drift scene for ages. I contemplated going down the S body route but decided against it and to test myself with an under-powered car to improve my skill as a driver.
Thankfully my brother in law had a E36 325i sitting in his driveway.

The car was a B3 replica and in its day was pretty sweet. Unfortunately 3 years being sat and not driven had taken its toll. I picked it up yesterday and the front tyres were shot, the rear arches have started to rust and bits of paint are peeling of on the side skirts and window trim (but who cares about body work). It died a few times on the drive home due to the battery having not been used and the accelerator got jammed a few times causing it to run to redline.

Will be getting MOT and Tax in the next few days and then the real fun begins. Im booked in for Santa Pod DWYB on the 13th so need it up and running by then.

Any suggestions on what i should do for wheels. I will be welding the diff and strengthening the rack and putting it on a diet.

Will get better pics once i've given it a good clean, inside, outside and underneath.

First thing would be to have a look at the subframe mounts (where the subframe meets the body) As pre 1996 e36's like to rip out, And being that 325's ran until 95 then were replaced by 328's its worth checking.
As for wheels, breytons are always nice.

what you have said in your list will do for abit, just buy stuff when you need it, would surgest some coilovers, and get some wheels so you dont have to keep waiting while you get tyres changed, have fun

if i were you bud im keep the wheels you have and hunt out some e34 bbs wheels from a breakers or a scrappies.
as said check the rear subframe mounts.
other wise a welder and maybe a seat but go and see what you think it needs at a dwyb with loads of seat time.
also if it hasnt run in 3 years i would seriously change the water pump as there prone to dieing if there the plastic emppellored rubbish that bmw designed

cheers for the feedback guys was looking at the BBS already :)

Think something has been living in the bonnet liner as well. Battery has been replaced and it seems to be running fine, stale fuel and oil to be changed tonight.

Will check out the subframe mounts.

I like it. Looks like a posh version of my old 325i.
What's the deal with the bar you welded on, oh and the cable ties?

Mike i kept munching cones and the M3 bumper didnt really offer any protection. Went through two radiators on the same Pod day so built something to keep the pesky things out. Little did i know all i had to do was get some skill.

The bumper and indicator decided to remove itself on the top track and i havent managed to fully fix it back.

So i've been working from home for a week or so and was bored. So i decided to make my steering wheel a bit more appealing. Might not be to everyones taste but works for me seeing as i was missing the OMP button

BBS wheels are 15 inch they came of an E34. Just keep your eye on EBay type in E34 BBS or BMW BBS. You can normally pick them up quite cheap.

What footage are you talking about?
