The new manifold was the reason we couldnt use it, the space just wasnt there to route the exhaust/cooler pipes with something hitting. Well the forsale ad wa sup for some time you need to be quicker
Quick question. Is it actually possible to get a socket onto half of the manifold bolts? I'm making a decent SR manifold and the biggest problem I'm having is make the manifold fit and flow nicely as well as being able to get a spanner or socket to all the bolts easily.
probably not but then again this car wasnt built to have this manifold. Exhaust coming along nicely and a good shot of the suspension/steering set up:-
Shaan i want to keep it within trackday levels so it has to be quite sensible i was thinking the bypass valve would have been a good idea but dont want to delay the build anymore.
Some pics I took for you earlier mate... Wheel clears air filter and pipe on full lock... Funky suspension... Turbo... Manifold... Downpipe... Intercooler and Rad... RB Racing oil scavenge pump...
the fabrication looks fan bloody tastic!!! i presume the filter will be well protested from the damp uk roads, yeh? and fair one on the exhaust front... either way will sound brilliant - got a target date for completion?
thanks a million for the pics Stav any chance you could send over the high res ones to me? completion date with Xmas in the way probably a couple of weeks.
One thing looking at this car has shown me- RHD E36s are about the least suitable car to turbocharge ever. No matter how simple or complex a setup it is, it's a massive pain in the cunt to fit a turbo anywhere worthwhile. As badass as the results are, it's something that I can deffo be counted out from, would rather import a LHD to use lol.
Flip me that is horrible welding! I cannot believe he actually sent that out, my 7 year old niece can blutack a manifold better! Good on you keeping your cool and getting it done properly, new one looks great!
i am SO glad mine is LHD haha! but stuff is looking good man! ive got a full fmic+piping set for mine, but ill probably go for custom piping aswell, the stuff i got with it fricking narrow and WAY to much bends/couplers etc
it was pretty hard to find the exact position for all 6 pipes of this manifold in a so restricted space, but I can easy say that I`m 100% happy with the result and can easy make it in production soon or later, in a couple of weeks labour this car should be done and really want to see what Greg will be able to pull out of this setup. but in the worst case scenario this car will be just awesome
Looks great just one thing is bothering me and that is how close the exhaust runs to the belt, maybe it's just the angle the pics have been taken at, as said though great stuff so far.
