the offending item - Arches ready to go on I also brought some seat mounts from driftworks for the passenger side, however they come up very short. Anyone have this issue? I have emailed them but no response yet:-
That's pretty normal with the seat mounts, just need to put a spacer to fill the gap and a longer bolt, it due to the rails fitting most seats as the widths of seats vary.
Decided to replace the standard door mouldings with M3 stuff. wish i hadnt touched it now, look at the gap 9476498B-FD36-446C-9382-BDF590B2A983_zpsh4zu4d4k.jpg Photo by vinaytaggar | Photobucket Brand new clips but some of the back of the moulding has perished which doesnt help either. I was struggling to find replacements for this part here as no one would post due to them being too fragile so i decided to spray over with some Satin Black, massive improvement and this happened
Have u used the right clamps? exterior trim / grille BMW E36 sedan 47449 No. 5 is for the M mouldings..
i used these ones - 10x BMW E36 Exterior Side Moulding / Door Bumpstrip Fastener Clips - inc M-Tech | eBay
The part no. given in the description is correct. Check if they are different from ur original clips. The clips of the m technic mouldings are different from the standard ones. Next compare your ebay clips to original BMW-M-Technic clips, make sure they look the same.. Sometimes it's easier to mount the clips (incl. those little condoms) on the mouldings first before you pop them into the holes in the door.
so the clips are the same, i have mounted the clips first to the moulding you cant do it the other way around as the clips slide then clip on. They match the previous ones.
no they match the clips from the m3 mouldings that i bought. the clips fit the moulding fine, they just dont seem to want to push far enough into the holes with the condom on
yeah i just need to figure out how to fit them now. Have you got any pics of the cuts you made? or install pics?
They were easy all i did was sand the lumps out at the front and back so they fitted more level on the cars panels. I didnt need to cut anything. I will put some pics up when photobucket decides to work.
