bmw e38 740i manual drifter

    Rear of car completely off now, waiting for replacement subframe to arrive, reinforce it then fit it back on. Going to replace a few bushes and solid mount the subframe whilst it's out

    new rear driveshafts, 4 new arms and (strengthened) subframe fitted after the off at mallory :thumbs:

    waiting on exhaust v band clamps to finish - then its back to mallory!

    decat now done, has made a MASSIVE differnce to the noise, its now so so savage and with the lightweight flywheel sounds like a motorbike lol!

    im home alone im afraid so cant do a drive by and video!

    will try and sort it out, its just got the central crossover box, no others :smash::wack:

    lol yeah im just west of northampton now mate.

    i took it to work today for a run out.

    we'll have to meet up soon for that pint! pref somewhere near as it does about 12 mpg! :smash:

    lowered it some more today, and as sun was shining thought id take few pics of some of the bits i never did along the way of the build. need to align it before silverstone and im still on the look out for some 10j rears, hence its on my drift wheels at the back!

    still looking for some 10j rears :(

    meanwhile iv stripped out the steering column, and welded a quick release spidle on the end, as soon as my new column bushes come from BMW il assemble that all back in and then set the strings up for alignment.

    roll on may may 20th @ silverstone

    Ive just ordered a billet flywheel for mines and i think i may well copy your cold air setup

    which flywheel brand did you go for? you will LOVE the differnce, its like a differnet animal

    I went for the TTV one its M5 fitment so i need to run M5 clutch too but i need it quick and couldnt wait for the states one.

    Also the same as the geoff steel racing one

    Came in at 400 which is reasonable. I was lucky as they had just done a group by for M5board so had one in stock.

    went to silverstone with the new ride height, wheels and tires etc. also a smaller steering wheel to get used to.

    oh and a de cat :wack:
