Do they corner ok? I'm looking at a 06 3.0 litre sport. My only worry will be that it'll try to get on it's roof at every roundabout.

They corner fine, the suspension is actually pretty good on the BMW X5. I've driven a few and they feel massive from the inside

Driven one on forza 4 lol. Apparently they are rapid and handle like a lotus Elise. However this may be subject to continuity errors.

I drove one done from the body shop i used to work at to a town 5 miles away to drop it off. Nice and comfy, held the road well for such a big car, Didnt lean as much as a discovery or similar.

They are okay to be honest , I drove one from Essex to Macclesfield not long ago , although that one was a 09 .
It depends what you are used to driving realy , for a car of its size it probabbly drives better than everything in its class except the range rover .

Its an SUV, as apposed to an offroader, so it does as it should, ride firmly, without too much bodyroll. If your looking to use it offroad, dont buy an x5, but for a large towcar, space inside etc, its not a bad vehicle

My old mans got a 3.0d.
    Good bus.
Test drive a 3.0 petrol before you buy as everyone says they're under powered.

And they're not that bad off road. People just don;t know how to drive them. And they expect road tyres will be ok offroad as it's a 4x4.

No. People don't know how to drive them.

    Huge difference.

I got embarrassed years ago from the lights against a 4.4 sport!! Literally took off rapidly!

Ps towing weight on these are very low for a 4x4 so I've heard circa 2t?

Check the rear tyres for inner wear. There's a bush in the lower wishbone and when it's shagged the wheel sees mega camber and nails the tyre.

They're pretty good in my experience Sam, but have you looked at a Kia Sorrento?

I drove a 4.4sport 04 plate around kingston and loved it. Fucking quick, handled well considering and sounded goo. My sister had an 08 4.4 sport and tbh they looked at the 3.0 and wasn't worth it

There are alot more things I'd by with the money like an rs4 or s6 M5, Amy merc but it depends what your after really
