Hi there! So.. I bought an E36 325i about a year ago. I recently started to upgrade it (coilis, reversed evo mounts, eccentric wishbone bushes, etc.). When I bought the car, I was a complete newbie about cars (its my first car). On the right tower there were some cracks on the "inner lip" and some paint cracks too. I noticed, that it was mushroomed but it has been hammered straight since them. The problem is that after aligment my right tower has about 2.6 camber, and the left one has about 3.5 camber (both with reversed evo mounts). I don't want to sell the car, because they aren't that cheap here, as in the UK. My first guess was to give it in a body shop to inspect it, cut the damaged tower and weld an undamaged on one instead of this. What do you guys think? Any advice would be appreciated! Cheers pitesy
The car may have had some damage, for 1deg of camber I really wouldn't bother cutting out the tower. Just get some adjustable top mounts and adjust one side different to the other. If it was me I just wouldn't bother, you'll never notice the difference anyway.
I don't have the sheet, but iirc they didn't measure it. Could you tell me what could be seen on the SAI and castor differences?
If the top mount is out of position then SAI and Castor would be similarily effected. If SAI and castor are (more or less) symmetrical I'd be thinking more like the strut or hub area.
