changing o2 sensor on BMW 316ti. which one is the pre cat? (pic)

    car using more than normal fuel.

    diagnonstics has said the pre cat sensor is dead.


    looked at the car today, doest even look like it has any catylic converters. ive looked online, aparently BMW have them INSIDE the Manifold?


    now looking in the engine bay at the manifold, i cant see any o2 sensors.


    underneath the car, at the bottom of the downpipe/manifold i can see 2...

    is one of these the pre cat o2 sensor?


    car is 2001 316 1800cc

    its the one in front of the cat (engine side) cant see rest of pic so cant see which end is which

    number 2 is the one closest engine.

    just wanted verification on the down pipes knowing that the catylic converters are in the picture

    never seen cats like that before?
