Just picked up an MX5 today so I'm scouring the net for bits and came across these cheap coilovers on ebay, I'm sorry if they've been discussed before (I've been out of the scene for 5 years), I'm sure its a case of you get what you pay for but anyone have any experience with them ? what are they like ? doesn't look like there's that much height adjustability and i'd like to go pretty low. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Full-COIL...l:MX-5&hash=item4180740c35:g:rboAAOSwPcVV28Ru
When I had them on my MK1, they went more than low enough. Not particularly stiff in terms of dampening etc. They did the job of lowering it and stiffening a little to fuck around with shit like this. {}
My girlfriend was using a pair of them in her nb for a while . They're grand , they'll get the car low and are relatively stiff but if you're looking for quality you're wasting your time obviously
I suppose by comparison, I went from a Twingo RS which was bloody stiff, to an AE86 on Coilovers and Tokico Red turned right up which was...bloody stiff, to the Eunos with standard suspension which was soft as shit, to the TA Teknic coilovers which were stiffER (than standard) but I wouldn't consider stiff by previous standards Hope that's less contradictory
We have quite a few MX5 customers buying HSD's because they're fed up of Ebay coilovers. It just totally depends on your budget. Ultimately, you get what you pay for.
