Juha Rintanen 'Drift Allstars Round 1 Wembley is cancelled!! Thank god I already reserved all the airline tickets yesterday..' Is this true?
Hope its not been cancelled, as I'm really looking forward to this; saw a few comments floating around on Facebook yesterday indicating that the event was no more though. As the occasional drift spectator, Drift AllStars hasn't really struck me as the most organised series out there!
We have not put out our Official Response as Alternate venue has not CONFIRMED! Key drivers/media sponsors know.We have ran at this venue 4 times, and its just out of our hands as of last tuesday!Gutted is an understatement but then the rescheduled venue is at a spectated event with 25,000 fans! "It is with huge regret that Drift All Stars Round 1 has been postponed. Unfortunately due to recent changes in noise restrictions for outdoor events in the Brent Council legislation, the event planned for London Wembley has had to be cancelled. After a new noise test which was carried out earlier today the new restrictions that are in place will not allow for the event to be possible. We are certain that the decibels of certain vehicles will exceed that of which is allowed and will endanger the event being cancelled whilst running. This is a situation which we cannot allow at any cost. Further updates to will follow."
Is the alternate venue in London or elsewhere, as I note the current link for Round 1 on the Drift AllStars website... http://www.drift-allstars.com/round-1-uk-birmingham/ ...mentions Birmingham?
This is disappointing, however its not really Drift Allstars fault if the venue is being pulled out from underneath them because of noise restrictions is it, I'm sure they doing everything in the power to resolve it. Maybe we should start thinking about running screamer pipes back into exhaust instead out of the bonnet at 200db hey ?
As usual , unclear , last minute changes, crap website thats rarely updated and no information to anyone thats attending ! Come on do it properly or pack up !
