Leave as it is for sure.

Please dont change and ruin any existing championships by trying new methods. Start something entirely new for experimenting imo.

The qualifying as it is, is my favourite part of competition drifting!!

Haha Qualifying is really your favourite part of competition drifting?

So you like single runs more than twinning?

Replace qualifications with current championship positions (or previous season if it's the first of the season). Local skidders or mid-season joiners run qualifying runs (if they want to) for the bottom places. If people are tied for positions then just randomly assign it between them. The judging is subjective enough that you're not exactly ruining the precision of it by getting rid of scored single runs. Limit to 32 per event.

So only the current championship leaders get to compete? You've clearly thought that out well.

If you're going to compete, then you can beat the people who you get paired with and running against the number 1 driver in your first battle shouldn't make a difference. Top 32 ranked drivers is fine and rarely do all 32 show for a round of most competitions which leaves room for effective wildcards. Getting rid of the qualifying gives time to have more battles.
