Like mentioned, a m2 of water is still hitting 1000KG of something! Fucking look at this, so close to a drivers door smash! Lucky to hit the front of the car at an angle, deflecting the first barrier away. There's something brown on your nose mate...
That will be why they all have cages for competing! Where this does become questionable- is if any of this happened at a practice day; where 90% of the cars don't have cages...
That's when they better get the ambulances and helicopters ready for practice days if they're going to stay there like that. s13's for example with no cage will wrap around that quicker than jimmy savilles finger
No ones ever been hurt/killed with a "cage" then? Come on, you can come up with something better than that. "Oh, we'll just put blunt water filled barriers there for everyone to smash into because they've got cages." An ounce of prevention, is worth a pound of cure.
They are only used here for custom tracks. (look how close the crowd is, they wouldn't be there if those things weren't fucking solid) Entry speed was around 100kph. Overkill for grass protection.
What the fuck are you on? I agreed with a good post, some of which I'd already posted in this thread in my own words.
This thread has reminded me why I stopped coming on here and posting, and why most others who actually mean any thing to the scene, who actully do any thing for it and who actually drift. Leave the key boarders of the forum to bitch, speculate, make up bull shit, make them selfs look like cunts. While every one else just gets the fuck on with things and ignores the retardness of this place!! KDF, piece out! See you at a DRIFT EVENT some day as IV had enough of this bullshit on here!
Water/concrete or whatever doesn't matter, extending it or losing blunt end is all that is needed. To those crying about having a wall or the damage to the 32s -your probably into the wrong sport. Please don't make uk drifting pussy
Posts up genuine concerns about barriers being positioned in retarded as fuck places, steering wheels that bend and general safety of drift car builds in BDC. Gets called a cunt, told steering wheels should bend and that the cars are built to brilliant standards whilst watching a video of an entire interior falling apart and flying around narrowly avoiding further injury. Wow... just wow
Concerns are understood and I'm sure they will be addressed. All I was trying to do is clear up the piles of forum bullshit, but after thinking about, there is no point even trying, as on here its just about who can talk the best talk rather than being proactive, getting off your arses and making these changes happen and do any thing about it. But no, it's much easier to just sit back, behind the computer screen, pic fault and bitch.
Just like to clarify that I'm not bitching and haven't bitched at all in this thread. Just genuine concerns.
Productive?!?!? How? Has it actually changed any thing? NO! Will any of you actually get up and make any changes happen? NO! Will team Acorn and BDC look at the turn of events and improve things? I'd bet my fucking car on it! Internet thread bitching = pointless.
Yes, I'm sure it's highlighted to people that proper safetly and car prep is important. Yes, I'm sure that people will be extra safe when fitting things inside the car and buying quality parts. How has it been productive? Showing people that safety is very important. Doesn't get more productive than that Paul. The only bitching in here is yours???
I'm amazed that the battery & switch panel came loose on a pro level, competition spec car. Was that barrier really there just to protect the grass? I don't know enough to comment on track layout and the relative safety of barrier types but I reckon it would be a lot cheaper to re-turf that area than fix all those cars!
