hi there everyone, my friend has started a plan to do a drive4life in aid of cancer research to raise money.

it has evolved a bit from just a plan and is going ahead and i am behind it, your entrance fee covers hotel, food party and drinks :D entrance fee is £395 so getting sponsors might be a good idea
it is a 1000 mile drive, in 2 days, I aint going to post much info here but i will give you his e-mail address, the web page and the original idea on clio sport
he has asked me to post it up on all the forums i use so here we are.

    e-mail ryan@drive4life.net
    Drive4Life

    orginal idea on clio sport

i think this is a great idea

a good way to cover the costs is to ask compaies to sponsor you to cover petrol costs and the entrance cost, in return for this you put stickers advertising the company on your car, because there should be media coverage of this event as well. anyone willing to take part?

oh yeah can Mods make this a sticky to atttract attanetion cheers :D

Good to see people doing somthing positive for a good cause

Just a shame numbers are limited, as in turn that limits the money rasied - possibly a bigger crowd puller would be drift for life?

Sort a venue, get some chaps to do some drifty shennanigans, get a celeb or two and then charge everyone a £5 to watch which can go to Charidee.

Of course in reality, the land owner will want paying, the celeb will want paying, the liability insurance will be crippling, the organiser takes a wad leaving 0.01p for the good cause. Of that 0.01p none of it gets put to the good cause as we all know that Charities are the biggest con of all, and the money will just line various over paid directors pockets.

    Cynical ... me ... never :D

I'm doing this event for sure-heard about it first through the cliosport forum. I think it's mainly a clio/renault/frog car based event-i'm pretty certain that it includes an appearance at the French car show in Liverpool, so guess a shed load of Jap drifters may be a bit out of place?? I know that the point of the event is to raise money so this shouldn't matter at all, but just wanted to say.......
However i'm sure that you would all be more than welcome. Good luck and well done to Ryan for organising it

ryan is one of my m8's who i work with, and he said it isnt at all aimed at frnch cars, it is up on several forums, and any car is welcomed, and yes a stop @ the french car show is on the vent, all the good french cars will b showed for a while, while the rest of us lowly jap owners will b punted in a car park lol

This is Ryan, owner/founder/director/legend of the Drive4Life!
Thanks to Andy for letting me make a post on his account,

The concerns some of you have are the same thru out all the forums I have posted on. The event is limited to 100 cars at the min as I had to get hotels booked and needed a figure to give them but if there is masses of interest then I will increase the number of places avilable as the more cars = more money 4 charity!

As for the French Car Show stop, now I know none of you will have French Cars but thats where the checkpoint will be as this will give drivers a chance to go on the 1/4 mile and have a rest 4 a while, you know go 4 a walk about and stuff. The FCS are also providing us with out own marquee and there will be food and drinks provided for all the Drive4Life people so therefore when tehy offered me this I couldnt really refuse as every one gets a VIP pass. However if you do not want to stop then by all means you can carry on stright away to Liverpool and finish the event. Remember its not a race so it doesnt matter how quick or slow you are getting to liverpool.

If any of you have any more questions then please mail me, ryan@drive4life.net

    Thanks
