Just a basic introduction, So, recently bought a new daily (E46 320i sedan), and as the other E46 drift car I have is loud as fuck and isn't allowed on practice days, I decided to convert my last daily to a drift car. Has some supporting mods already (as I already knew it would end up as a drift car hehe), but still slow as fuck. {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr It's an '98 316i E36 compact (one of the last 1.6 ones, before they started to sell the 316i with a 1.9), and have used is a daily for over a year now. It's dropped on TA-Technix coilovers up front, and chopped springs w/ Camaro shocks at the back. Mille Miglia MM11 wheels in 17x8.5 ET13 w/ 205/45 Nankang NS2's all around. strongflex bushings up front, removed front anti-rollbar, but added a rear anti-rollbar from a Z3. Interior is pretty clean, recently fitted this half-alcantara sport interior, which will go out though. {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr a lil older pic, but engine bay is pretty clean too. {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr Engine is okay, but as stated before, it's slow as fuck, so I bought a M44B19 a little time ago which will be prepped to go into the compact. interior will be gutted, buckets will be fitted, hydro handbrake, weld the diff (looking for a shorter ratio E30 diff though, which is a pain in the ass..) and maybe a basic lock kit too. Got a ducktail laying around, and am looking into a felony form set too. - M43B16 (to become M44B19) - TA-Technix coilovers (front) - Chopped springs + Camaro shocks (rear) - Strongflex bushings - Silver Project camberplates - Some stickers - QSP wheel - Custom shiftknob - Some RGB LED strips (inside and out) Plans: Gut interior, find an E30 diff and weld it, install hydro, basic lockkit, Insert M44, do some skids. Should become a fun lil' streetsweeper. {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr
They're fun lil' cars, I've been lucky that mine has AC, which means it already has the bigger 318ti fan from the factory.
So took some unnecessary cables out on saturday. {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr Had a lil' meet.: {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr Picked up a 3.91 E30 168 diff, probably to be welded and fitted underneath the compact. {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr Refreshed rear anti-rollbar bushings. {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr Had some ugly holes in the bumper, so.. {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr Bumpercut! {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr And this is the best part, just chill and look at cars. {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr
I prefered it without the ducktail.... I literally just took mine off the other week. Prefered the spoiler-less look!
I honestly am in love with it, as the compact just needs something extra on that boring ass Pics don't do it justice either.
Gave this thing some wheels and an 4,5 hour detail session. So it was time for some pics. {} DUTCHIE-9807 by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr {} DUTCHIE-9809 by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr {} DUTCHIE-9812 by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr {} DUTCHIE-9813 by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr {} DUTCHIE-9815 by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr {} DUTCHIE-9817 by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr {} DUTCHIE-9819 by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr {} DUTCHIE-9820 by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr {} DUTCHIE-9821 by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr {} DUTCHIE-9827 by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr

I know I know, that was a late, dark, shady-ass picture with the neons, so here are some better ones, with a nice extra I did yesterday: {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr {} Untitled by Kevin Hoff, on Flickr Day by day, I start to like the lil' compact more and more.
