I wasn't aware that was the case as I normally book in advance and last time I went (before July) it still advertised 10 on gate. Didn't manage to fix my Car yday anyway due to rusty nuts n bolts n some parts not turning up when they're suppose to. Never mind, maybe next month. Have fun.
Sick fucking day. Hi to the people I met today. Pics of the aristo if you got them would be much appreciated
Despite my rad cap being fucked and making the car boil/steam over before it'd even got hot, it was a decent day, loads of seat time thanks to the busyness of the playpens and kidney all day. Some bizarre things today mind... Someone went to have a go in the playpens before even the briefing. Someone went to get their wheels/tyres changed by Mint, then was told he had to change them himself, and he said he didn't even know how to jack his car up n change em, and didn't have tools or spare wheels anyhow. Someone else too without any spare tyres. And lots of open diffs. Mental.
I didnt even see your car.. Was looking out for it too. 350z was mega lolz. heard some shouting at the tyre place over a fiver.
Shame it cant be like this every month. I left at 2ish just because id had so much track time i was knacked and quickly running out of wheels. Speaking of which i got through 14 of but only put 13 back on my van so thankyou to the cunt who stole a wheel. It had to be one of the only wheels that made the only matching set of 4 I have. Shouldnt have to chain wheels up on a track day. Whats happening to the world.
^ hope you find out who took your wheel, its sad to think people steal from such a close friendly community. had a great day myself, got through 14 tyres by 3pm, so much seat time, was fantastic, must have murdered about 100 wasps aswell the little beggers! defiantly one of my best runs at pod to date, cant wait for sept (guy in the dark green)
cracking day, didint relise how hot it was going to be ,managed to get through 8 tyres by 1pm and managed to get out for 5 laps on the big track with other cars for my first time, loved it!!!!!!!! loads of seat time, well run day so good now its a strict 60 cars, never seen so many mx5s in one place! also met loads of great people, good chilled out vibe,Dale your an animal mate!
i thought it was a really good day, as a passanger. saw loads of mx5s and everyone i spoke to was really nice and chatty. also wasnt expecting perfect weather so was pretty dehydrated and sun burnt my face looks like -> nice to put a name to the face stavros aswell, he knows his mx5's was good day drifting out with colgate in his s14a managed to link 3rd gear on top track firts time so well done buddy, 9 sets by lunchtime is good going ps - anyone know the name of the guy with the black matt mx5 with purple side skirts and petrol cap. and lexus style lights. some maximum bhp i remember
Had my most enjoyable day drifting ever. Took photos all morning but hit the big track proper in the car in the afternoon. Managed to link the big track a few times and did my first bit of twinning with a guy in a black E36 with the flag out the back. Had Bolf's missus Maggie on board and it was really exciting to be that close to another car. He was taking such a wide line that I could sneak up alongside him in the tighter stuff. Cool to see so many MX5's there. I hope that the MX5Nutz forum can team up with Rotorstock next year to have the whole place packed with Mazdas - MazdaFestUK. Drifting, drag racing, show and shine, traders etc etc. Something like this, but in the UK: MazFest 2013 | Vendor Information Ian.
Had sn amazing day! Got stung by a wasp twice on the top corner of the big track. Used 13 tyres by 3pm in a stock powers mx5! Sadly it was the mx5s last outing (bright blue with white wheels) as no one wants to buy it its being broken.
Glad everyone had a top time, shit to hear about the wheel going missing , just make sure when you pit , you say hello to your neighbours and get names etc so you can keep an eye on peoples stuff. IF anyone sees any dodgy goings on come find me , Rads , lex or Mint tyres steve ASAP and let us know. Won't stand for dickheads stealing shit.
Nobody stole my wheels, which was a shame as they were 13s and I didn't realise they wouldn't fit over 1.8 MX5 rear brakes, so couldn't use almost all the wheels/tyres I took with me lol. I do think non-drifters, or people coming for the drift experience, should have their own space rather than in the pits. I came back to the pits at one point to change tyres, and despite clearly marking a pit space with my tyres n tools n whatever, some bell in a brand new AMG Merc had fucking parked in it and fucked off! I went back out on track and the Mrs wrote a letter telling him to do one n stuck it to the car, and it was gone by time I came back thankfully.
Had another good day nice to put names to faces ! Even if its forum names , nice little mx5 Stavros and you drove it well ! Had a bit of fun with a few including a fella in a v8 14 it was nice to meet you and take my daughter out look forward to the next one !
Really enjoyed this, first ever drift day and I had heaps of fun! Really well organised day and great for beginners. I couldn't link a figure of 8 before this and thanks to the different pens I managed to get out on the big track by the end proper happy!
Glad to hear once again pod is all good. My first pod day back in March was mental busy. Ever since then numbers have been really good, missed this months one but will be back at pod in September for the last time in the e36 or possibly in a bew toy in the shape of an S-body.
pod is great again, altho some of the pot holes gave me whiplash, and my car doesnt drive straight anymore lol
