    Hi,

I drive an E36, and I just swaped my 1.6 m43 with 1.8is m42, with it's ECU. The engine has the wiring for LPG, the ECU for LPG is also connected (it won't start without it) but the injectors are not connected. The car runs fine on petrol but when it reaches working temperature (about 80-90°C) it puts max rev limit on 6 500rpm in neutral and 5 500 while driving.

Please note - on the 20pin connector, engine has pin 14 and missing pin 9, while car wiring is missing pin 14 and has pin 9. (or the other way around.. fuck.. I will check again tomorrow..sorry)

I have the MAF sensor from m44 engine, tried disconnecting it, doesn't help.

I hope you could give me an idea where to start

    Hi,

Just wanted to let you guys know I solved the problem.

The VSS is connected to pin 9 on models until 1997, after that it is connected to pin 14. Since my chassis is 98 and engine i swapped 96 i had to match the pins, after that the car runs 6 000+ rpm :)
