Built this to have something that can be comfortable and daily friendly, but also be a competent drift / track car. Its a good balance between the two. Only quality parts have been used and anything that's a possible weak point has been addressed. Runs 380bhp / 410ft lbs @1bar (getting close to 480/500 at 2 bar) AC Shnitzer s3 engine (3.0 litre) - Arp Head Bolts - MLS Head gasket - Timing chain, tensioner etc refreshed Turbo converted with monster sized scavenge pump for safety (keeps oil flow from turbo to sump) e36 323 originally, in Boston Green (had really tired paint) so its now vinyl wrapped gloss white JR racing 17" wheels HSD Monopro coilovers (need dialled in properly, recently installed) eccentric lollipop bushes (m3) Poly-bushed everything on the rear, subframe, diff etc rear strut brace custom built 3" downpipe to 2.5" exhaust, which is really quiet. Its a properly done system, sits nice and follows the standard exhaust routing tucked up nice and high (note, will need a 3" full exhaust if aiming to run more power) Big intercooler Stewart EMP uprated waterpump Racing thermostat (opens earlier) Coolerworx Pro shifter 830cc injectors Link G4 ecu (anti-lag, launch control etc etc) Welded diff, steeper ratio (forget what it is, but its not OTT) Vertex dished steering wheel Aem wideband, cheapo boost gauge (ecu gives a more accurate reading) Adjustable rear camber arms (DW) M sport interior / exterior from factory (full interior - not stripped out) Ali radiator (thicker, Mishimoto) Mocal oil cooler, Mocal oil filter housing & pipework Front lower x brace Alpine stereo bluetooth etc, rear 6x9 focal speakers, front focal 5.25", sound deadening around the speakers, looks stock, sounds great Competition clutch, quite heavy, rated for 800ish hp / slightly less torques DW lightweight flywheel Benchmark coilpacks NGK BKR7 spark plugs Walbro fuel pump and malpassi fpr Custom Depo angel eye headlights with turbo intake (turbo sits directly behind the headlight) New discs pads and handbrake shoes Jan 2020 Rear arches rolled to accommodate wider tyres or wheels as needed Fresh gearbox and diff oil Jan 2020 Probably a load of other stuff that I have forgotten. When building the car, it went through iterations of testing to make sure there were no leaks, knocks, weak points etc. In labour alone - a small fortune has been spent to make sure its done right, so its solid and reliable. - not a bodged timebomb (eg all the fittings & hoses were from Think Automotive and specced correctly). {} {} {} {} {}
I am based in Isleworth. Had a Seat Leon a while back, it was both rubbish and amazing at the same time lol.
Bump. Turbo has been relocated to top mount and a 3" downpipe put on. Might have increased the power, it feels more aggressive than before.
Have you still got old manifold(bottom mount) and downpipe? If you do, would you be interested to sell it?
I will get some pics of the new setup as requested. No old parts available (previous parts either cannibalised or thrown away already)
Bump Now has angel eye headlights (depo) and heat wrap over the parts near the turbo Also now makes 430bhp / 465ftlbs (- the bigger downpipe increased boost naturally to 1.2 or 1.3 bar, actuator not adjusted)
Bump Managed to get more power out on the dyno, but the gearbox lunched itself when near 500ftlbs. Now has a new gearbox (standard getrag), fresh gbox oil and diff oil. Will be pulling the boost back to be safe for the time being. A stronger gearbox is the only limiting factor now (and maybe a metal inlet manifold)
Update Felt like the top end of the rev range was a little weak so made some changes:- Hybrid Turbo by Turbo Developments (365 bearing, larger compressor housing) Mamba actuator Full 3" turbo back exhaust (was 2.5" from the downpipe before) - one less silencer so no longer sounds completely stock, has a nice volume with no drone Turbo is good to run at 2 bar all day long, but I have it set at 1bar for now.
Just had a message pointing out I forgot to put a price! £7500 is the lowest I will take for a straight sale.
Replied to all PM's. Few recurring questions answered below: Selling up because I am moving soon and will lose driveway space (happy to put the car into storage, so wont be pushed down on price) Oil light flickers on and off on idle - this is due to the scavenge pump; oil checked regularly and levels are good. Oil light never on when moving. Oil light never flickered on and off without the scavenge pump. The turbo was originally bottom mount, hence the pump - its now top mount and it could be removed from the setup now if desired. Its a passthrough pump, so I am not concerned about it failing. No idea what the power is with the new turbo on - its fast enough though New turbo is built to run at 2.0bar - I have kept it at 1bar and wont be pushing it until a stronger gearbox is in. The previous getrag box lunched itself pretty quickly once the torque went over 465ft lbs.
