I had the idea after watching a wörthesee video. Could a 330ci or M3 engine easily be put into a estate car? I assume it’s been done before although so far I haven’t found evidence. My question is what would I need to do it?? Obviously an engine but do I need PCM/ engine bay harness and if so is this 1 easy to source and 2 require any modding to fit the factory body harness. Is there any modified mounts I need? And any other bits that need to be changed/ modified?
Any help would be great, thanks

So yes, it will fit no problem. the outside dimensions of m54b30 are the same as m54b25

I've done a replacement swap for e46 330ci that had 268hp with ecu tune, new exhaust, lighter flywheel and clutch(as the owner said)
so it's quite close to e36 3.0 m3 with 286hp for less money. if money isn't too much of a issue i would go with the S engine. one from the e46 will fit no problems.
