And the oil level....there won't be a dipstick as thats included in the iDrive. Should be interesting enough with those few bits actually!
Bloody hell Phillip! Your just never content with the standard package are ya! Arent your fed up of projects yet? I know i am lol. Good luck though mate! See you saturday at Combe no doubt!
WOW, the sound of that engine with some loud pipes does things to me I thought only a woman could. Add one project to my "to be created" wish list. Much approved Phil, keep the faith brother!!!
Sorry to hijack thread Lex or anybody who's been to green hell recently- I've heard they are clamping down on alot of modded cars from UK- just curious what is max db at the ring these days and what other things are a no-no? Back on topic-I will keep my eyes on this -Phil this is one crazy project. E46 M3 + M5 V10 + that exhaust = Very bad ass car. Hopefully you will bring/use it at a drift event when tis done so we all can see and hear it in the flesh. Would wish you best of luck but judging on how your s15 turned out, this should be a walk in the park for you guys.
I don't drift (so I probably shouldn't be here lol) but I joined up just to say AWESOME!! I'm from Brum so I've seen this beast in the flesh and as hard as it may be to believe the pics don't do the ///M justice! Looking forward to the progress with the ///M V10 Good luck! P.S. I've got the same ACS's on my E36 (only 9.5's on the rear)
This will be truly awesome when it's done, but thought you might like to consider the following (if you were going for full on mentality with a blank cheque book that is!) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtD03hEhuOU]YouTube - Scheid BMW M3 GTRS Eifelblitz[/ame] Quite simply one of the best noises I've heard in a long time - FEV-built flat crank V8, I'm assuming based on the S65 or the P65. No idea what would be involved making this streetable and reliable, but if my numbers come up I'll let you know But yeah, V10 is good too, obviously Who knows what crazy noises you'll have coming out of it if you do something creative with the exhaust (a-la Lexus LF-A?)
There is no dB limit. It's a public road. Don't drive like a cock in the car park and you'll get through unless you have something silly. Sharp parts on the car like bonnet pins and gay-ass wings, or bodykits held on with a cable tie won't cut the mustard.
Hmm, I have very good reason to believe its 96dB at 4000rpm (and I think 45 degree 1 metre) if they get the sound meter out. I've been tested a couple of times! Obviously you go more than me though, so what makes you think not dude (aside from the public road argument)? Have they changed the rules this year? Anyway, agree about not being a bellend in the car park/ away from the barriers. They rarely get the hump/ get the sound meter out unless you do. As you know, sometimes someone rings the track from one of the nearby houses and they go after you and hallegedly there are also drive by noise meters on the track (as from last year- never seen them). I hear that this year they are toughening up sheddy cars generally as you suggest.
The rules change day to day to suit themselves, it's a sad truth really. Just basically try your best not to give them an excuse to get you off the track. I was passengering in a CSL that was stopped and noise checked on TF, and passed with 103dB.
