I'm looking to get E90 320D, 163bhp, diesel due to distance to work. We have loads of rainy days here in Ireland and it got me wondering if this car can go sideways on wet/damp road?

Any car will go sideways if you try hard enough, I'd say the torque of a diesel may help but revs might not

The thing is non of my friends drive these and I can't really pull a drift on a test drive. I've heard that they'll go sideways on 2nd after rain which I'm all about, especially after some remap and possible coilies. Just looking for first hand confirmation that some fun is possible in this daily.

It has a open diff so it will slide but won't drift as open diffs are shit

I've a 200hp odd 46 derv here in eire..of course it'll drift, anything will if you know how. .but remember diesel cars aint so easy to drift..rev limit is shit so I use 3rd but thats quite a pace for a little messing about..also open diffs are shit. Diesels dont like this type of abuse either especially an e90 been the little drama queen they are..just hoop it in, let the torque do the work and keep the revs down

My car has 155hp and I can get it sideways on dry road. Only thing that's going to put a damper on you is going to be the low revs and the open diff.

    Requirements for drifting:
    1. RWD
    2. That's it.

My e91 320d went sideways pretty easily. But I can't skid for shit so it didn't stay sideways for long.
It had Coilovers and a remap.
