Did a skid Oh, and for all the bummers posting on the thread saying it's shit as it's not Jap, I made it more JDM-Tyte for you, yo.
Haha! I fucking love this not even the JDM bummers can hate it , I'm sure the build couldn't be as easy as you've made it out to be though. It's seriously impressive
Although I didn't think Jaguar started using V8 engines until the mid 1990's, I thought they were staight-6's and V12's only ??? but then I don't know all that much about Jags to be honest. Awesome work Stav btw
It was removed from a Jag, but it's no Jag engine, lol. Yank V8. Update is, we broke it while preparing/practicing for Retro Rides. Not hugely, but the Volvo "Torque Arms" that hold the rear axle in place clearly can't take Turbo V8 torque, and twisted and snapped like a muthafucker... Though the alloy arms broke, TBH we don't think it's their fault, they look pretty good, it's the steel subframe thing (which also twisted up like it was made of plastic) that buckled so out of shape due to the torque that it bent and snapped the arms. We reckon by looking at it that if that subframe thing was a lot stronger (ie enough to not bend) the arms wouldn't break either. So we're adding lots and lots of extra metal to the subframe and trying again with some new arms we got from the scrappy.
Is there any kind of subframe swap available from one of the other volvo's? You'd have thought plenty of people would have tuned the 2.3 Turbo and found this problem out as well?
Torque arms are on all these Volvos, from 240s onwards. There's uprated ones available in other countries. Both the arms and that pissy subframe thing. Nobody ever does anything serious with them in the UK, which explains why this was a new issue to me.
