Basically with little experience of exhaust systems and back boxes i asked around what would be a nice fairly lairy exhaust. In conclusion a cheery bomb was the answer. What a mistake lol its so bloody loud. Every time I see the fuzz im getting my documents ready to produce as i know they will pull me. Whats an easy way to qieten the cherry bomb?BTW its on a e30 318is twincam.
I have no idea, but this thread has instigated a mild giggle. I suspect that will develop further. I'm now going to google Cherry Bomb for the full effect.
Excuse me !! They most certainly were NOT made for boys in novas - they predate the nova by at least 20 years !!! Just cut the pipe and weld in another bomb, or better yet it big brother the "muff diver" (I kid you not !!). Muff divers and cherry bombs were a laugh when I were a lad, I had one as my only silencer on my 2.1 burton capri - sounded the bollox !! J.
Holy shit are people still cherry Bombing!!!!! Awesome!!!!! Lol Fit a centre section and you'll be laughing.
hahahaha thank you... i will giggle on and off all day now remembering that film. oh and my contribution... if it's loud, rag it around more, if you see the fuzz, run man, run!
Don't be a girl! lol strip it out and get rid of the sound deadening then see how loud it is! I want a cherry for my 318is, did you buy it new if so where from? I soooooo want one and systems for the IS are a pain in the ass to find!
I've got a deafening exhaust on my daily. The only solutions are: 1 - More silencer volume (bigger is quieter). 2 - More baffles (straight though exhausts are bastard loud). 3 - Smaller diamter pipes (less boom) 4 - Ear plugs. 5 - Deafness. I'm going for a combination of 4 and 5, as all the others cost money.
I've thought of a number six, and I think you'll like it. It definitely works because I've done it to my MX5: 6 - Fit a turbo.
Your all gay! this is what a customer wanted... So i built it for him! Straight through system with 0 silencers... WTF! This is 3" down pipe, 3" centre section with 3" pipe with an 'Afterburner' trim on it! He seemed to like it!
You can't trust the judgement of a man who needs 4WD. Nothing gayer than being scared of a bit of wheel spin. Nothing apart from the things you need two men for anyway.
