This is a thread to find out who people think are good drivers, it can be anyone you can think of, famous or as low down the table as you want, aslong as you have a decent reason why, this is NOT about the car they drive or a chance to shamelessly hype your self up, in a nut shell whos your idol in the drift world and why?.......and yes im aware KT is gona turn up sooooo much
I'll say it everytime, Yoshinori Koguchi. {} I know tons of people bum him, but for alot of people like myself he was a big influence. That video of him throwing that perfect black Kouki 180sx around Nikko, dipping the tyres into the dirt, clipping apex's with so much style and speed was the first bit of drifting I ever saw and it's what got me into drifting. He might not be up there in the rankings in terms of championship points, D1 wins etc, but I could watch him drive all day. Proper OG.
i was going to say brett castle because it was him drifting years ago that got me interested but im going to say K-san, dont jump on me, yes i know loads of people are on the K-san "bandwagon" but he's a good drifter and puts on a good show whether he's in his car or out of it. BUT then there is tezuka aswell lol
Hibino before more Saito now for me cos they're both completely nuts, always do something insane and are so exciting to watch YouTube - Daigo Saito Round 5 2008
There's so many awesome drivers, whatever motorsports they come from. It's hard to say this one is my favorite, i love watching them all when they are behind a wheel.
Orido is always good to watch, that said, any of the D1 guys can put on a good show! But something about Orido's driving thats always good to watch. Nomura is pretty entertaining too!
Not really drifting but Gigi Galli for doing this. YouTube - amazing rally driver Not the best version of the video, but you get the idea of the man's talent!!
I would add that most top flight rally drivers would annihillate pretty much every drift driver on the planet !! J.
I dont know names etc of specific rally drivers but i do agree with Bladey's comment, rally drivers hold the most respect from me!
Simple maths Loz, Flat out in any weather Continuously hitting tighter apexes than alot of drift courses Much less room to manouvre than on a racetrack or even most roads Over courses that last many miles with different style corners everywhere On VARIABLE road surfaces that CHANGE as the drivers drive across them !! And at the end of a stage the top half dozen guys are usually within 1sec/mile of each other !!! Thats all a bit more demanding than hitting 3 or 4 clipping points at Irwindale !!! Only thing I probably respect more than that is Valentino Rossi !!! J.
totally agree, apart from the Rossi thing, isn't he a bike rider? i lost enthusiasm long ago for bikes.
I can not choose one because each one has a different style/skill Drift/Rally/F1/MotoGP Are all different things, so is difficult to choose one favourite driver
