    Todays update (16/03/2009)

So following on from yesterdays arch attacking, I drove Dylan about to help him get some parts needed to rebuild the 1JZs14 and then headed back to mine.

First job was to Hammerite protect the metal tabs we had made with the inner skin, so off came the rear fender and I attacked with a rattle can..
    DSC01782. DSC01783.

In the mean time Dylan was making pretty shapes with the other arch:
    DSC01784.

    Resulting in Ghetto Flaring Spec:
    DSC01786. :smokin::cool:

But decided best to use the overs that Replikit had given me anyway:
    DSC01788.

Next job was to fit the last pieces of the Kit, The side skirts.. this involved a HELL of a lot of fettling with the rear overs as AGAIN the shorter cabriolet mould causing me issues with the coupe.. :smash:..so ended up cutting off the smaller second piece from the bottom as well..
    DSC01790.

Note the fibre glass chunks on the floor. Lol.

Then we played with spacers, ride height and fitment to the best of our ability and ended up with this:
    DSC01792. DSC01793.
    DSC01796.

    Rear: 17x10 ET35, 43mm in spacers (38mm+5mm) = ET-8 :smokin:
    Front 17x10 ET35, 25mm in spacers = ET10 :(

We think rears need that extra 7mm so I need to source 50mm spacers, and the fronts.. I’m undecided on, but im still trying to find a 9j or 9.5j so that’s not my main concern.

    Worst bit..
    DSC01798.
THIS is as low as the HSD’s go!!!!! :(:(:(:cry:

I’m not sure if it’s a massive issue yet, but could prove to be. This is not a trailer fairy car so will be driven to events.. therefore im not gonna whine tooooo much.. its just annoying.

    Closing Shot:
    DSC01800.

    Out.

mate i know exactly how annoying it is not having the wheels sitting right up inside the arches because of bodykit - floor clearance, especially for the look we are aiming at ;)

EDIT: absolutely loving the overfenders tho bud, always loved a fc rear fender

TBH id rather have no rubbage and the car handling than one of them USDM tyte ones that people wank off about as they look badass in pics but drift like a pile of shite.

Lookin mint mate, and i expect it will go a little lower once the springs settle, they usually do, not loads, but some

Awww bummer about the slammage but its better to be abit higher for now and get awesome suspension rather than having shit suspension and being slammed, you can always figure a way of slamanating the HSD`s more.

How come you didn`t buy the wheels in a better off set rather than using mega spacers?

    chhhhheeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap.

i dont think people realising the level of skint.i can only buy bits for this car as s14 bits sell. and at the time i had cash left on paypal..

i already owned the spacers from the s14, although it looks like ill still need more lol. lookin at some et12's though for the front from a Demon Road team mate.

Makes sense then dude, money talks. Especially if you dont have any. I`m in the same situation with my FC, i have it running now but its proper pov spec and isn`t going to get an treats anytime soon.

Still, cool car for the budget and fingers crossed for some sbody sales!

I'd rather have no rubbing, a car that looks badass in pics AND a car that handles good too. But I'm greedy, hey ho.

Philip - excellent young squire. Hopefully what I suggested should let them go lower.

I'm witth matty - you don't need more spacers, you need to sell what you've got and buy dishy rimz!

Loving the thread - inspirationally quick work and ting! Great read, and handy for when I get an FC.

Good luck with the rest of it.

Phil says the threaded tube is hitting the bottom of the lower cup - I suggested maybe giving the threaded section a chop to allow it to travel into the cup a bit more - would this work?

I have a feeling the fronts WILL go low as they are.
