So in the near future I'm looking at getting an MX5 for drifting. I've got a soft spot for the MK1 due to their pop ups and the kits you can get for them. But they don't seem as easy to find for cheap nowadays. Or do I go for the MK2, they appear less appealing to me but they're fairly?

Seems as this is a Drifting Forum, I thought I'd ask on here for opinions. I've read various threads from the past, but they date back to 2012 and before.

    Any advice would be appreciated,

    Thanks!

I'd say around £500. Not much as I'm already funding 1 project car which is off the road for work for show season and then beating around in my daily.

As standard Mk1 is cooler looking but Mk2 has slightly better handling. Interior is nicer on a Mk2 as well.
There's virtually fuckall in it mind.

Drifting does get a little more expensive than 500 pounds

There are perks to both... I've seen people swap nb engines and nb 6 speeds in an na. Guess that does say something.

Mk2 better handling? Stock suspension, yes. But overal not that different.

Whatever you get, it's gonna require some work to set it up for drifting. Getting a shitbox that ready has suspension done may save some money...

Anyway gl :) mx5 is the way to go
