Hi all, I've been lurking for a little while, well up for some drifting, however haven't had anything to use (I've got a mk1 and 2 escort, but neither are roadworthy atm, so last night I picked this up. Well solid, 1.6 pinto. First plans are to convert the front struts to coilovers, lowering blocks and better dampers on the rear, got to find a couple more 8j ally cats... Weld the diff, adj. Tcas, adj. Top mounts, hydraulic handbrake a lot of lowering, oh and a more powerful engine! Any comments/ideas/whatever more than welcome!

Paint wise I'm going to tidy the primered areas up, but probably leave it this colour for now, will clean/paint the engine bay when I change it.. might just run it how it is and focus on the performance. People don't expect much from a beat down Capri! Would like to either sr20 or rb25 it..

So, sorted out some rear wheels, 9j minilights with 165/55-13's over them!

and lowered it a tad, coilover conversion on the front, blocks on the back..

    fitted a tacho
    [IMG]

    and some gauges
    [IMG]

then it rained a lot... So it seemed rude not to go play on some wet roundabouts... Did some dukes of hazzard shit up a curb and caught my sump
    [IMG]

    so choppy choppy
    [IMG]

should be putting a new exhaust on today, and maybe weld the diff up.... I'll try get some better pictures once it's all settled in.

Don't really need deep pockets to be honest, so far with everything that I've done to this it stands me in about £800... Including wheels, tyres, coilovers, lowering blocks etc...

Did a few more bits and bobs...
Split the sump again, so shortened the pickup pipe, and sump, then added a wing on the side to take it back to standard capacity... Didn't really take any pictures of it, will do when I weld the diff up..
But, fitted a home brew exhaust, is now straight through stainless into an old school bike can

(one of the next jobs is to sort out the gash tailgate)

fitted a new dash panel, and steering wheel (old springalex I had kicking about) will get a nice suede one at some point, but this'll do for now... And wired in the stereo.

this kind of shows the clearance of the xmember...

and one final shot of the old beast.

as ever, ideas and comments welcome! X

Loving that, would think the pics were taken in 1985 if it wasnt for the newer cars in some pics!

Im after some Alleycats, badass wheels, in 4x114. Some were sold on Retrorides in that fitment a lil while ago for like 70quid

Did a few more bits and bobs, chucked some paint at the sills, arches and rear panel full on ghetto style at the side of the road, needs doing properly, just trying to make it a bit less pikey spec...

and slapped more filler in the tailgate, and had some White paint kicking about (and made up a parcel shelf, and covered it with a blanket that was kicking about..

    pic of the exhaust
