Big Milestone for me! Today got it fired up for the first time in....many years...(too many)! Yeah, it looks like nothing spectacular, but only me knows how many hours are into it. Now get the car wired up properly , do all the braking stuff and maybe one day, drive it...
Just after the fitting of the engine(long before the start up video), I noticed inmediately that I did not like the engine position. I made the custom mounts like 4 years ago, with very little knowledge of fabrication, so they were very agricultural. They were really a mess to be honest, so decided to make some proper mounts this time. Did go for CDS tubing and chassis ear mounts. At the same time , attacked again the firewall with the grinder so I could push the engine 100mm further back. Did the same for the gearbox. The only reason for not doing this the first time, was keeping the brake servo. Now it's binned. Very pleased with the results!! Comparison before/after. Previous position was already with the firewall cut. Sierras have a very short engine bay. Before Now Before Now Finally sourced some HSD monopros for the rear. I could not find any with GTR fork fitment, so bought S13's and modified them. Made a battery tray to begin with the wiring and finished the fuel system, so I could fire the engine before the end of the year. Hope to make the first test before the summer!
Still working on it.... life priorities changing and all that. Will do a small update of some stuff done. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
