A bit of Zokusha love! Slight progress, not much have been busy with work and the beach on weekends. Darth brought some fuses for me Clean and fitted Testing new bulbs after wiring everything up Got some bulbs from Jaycar Bright Clusters are the way of the future! Shall make the dimmer feature work as well which will be great. Needed to pull the automatic pilot bearing out Proper tools for the job make the job that much easier Got some new steering rack bushes in Nolathane Finished my grill
Have been overly busy with so many different things lately, from buying another car to selling it the same exact day. Picked up a C210 for 500$ and sold it for a hefty profit. My work Started finishing off the dash pieces that I needed to. Old vs new buttons. Had to rewire the new buttons as they had different plugs and more wiring for the backlight. New Bulbs for the backlights
JP! Finished, going to cover up the holes with Datsun badges Ended up finally wiping down and treating all of the leather with protectant and everything is now looking clean cut and top notch! Theme originally was going to be a same color respray, however that all changed when someone suggested to me a star wars theme. So storms troopers it is! Table arrived with a little... Picked up a fiberglass lip Auto Spoiler Style Picked up some projector headlights very cheap as well However, one ended up being very badly damaged so I sold them off. Indicators galore! Got two import coupe indicators to use with Ausdel backing plates
So then something came up for sale.. and I got thinking... Looking at Gun Top's 31.. Then looking at one of my faves And then browsing facebook and coming across this and this front end coming up for sale. Made me decide to snatch it up!
HAHAH, some parts collection you're building there I (although this will sound boring and nerdy) look forward to seeing how you get the dash dim to work with the LEDs, I've bought some LEDs for my Hachi Roku from the land of Oz and they might be a tad bright
So out with the old! Finally a good condition grill and filler panel. As much as I like the lip, I am a big fan of the standard look like the Zokusha worx 31, unfortunately last time around the grill was in very poor condition and the filler panel had bog all over after a repair. So off the lip had come The new plates are on. ------------------------------------------------- So all that is left, is - Glue the broken piece of the air conditioning fascia and respray it, then glue the face of it onto the plastic, and bolt the remaining interior parts in. - NPC Cushion button clutch - NPC lightweight flywheel - New throw out bearing - New Spigot - Oils, (Motor, box, diff.) - Plugs Roadworthy Certificate Registration!
From what I've been told, it does not work with a dim switch of any kind as LED's are either on or off. But that certainly wouldn't stop me trying
Some interior progress! Tracked down and Ordered off of Custom shift knobs, check them out! a lightsaber gear stick! 260$ USD but so worth it, takes about 4-6 weeks to arrive, can't wait! Angry industries bonnet struts arrived! Fitted
Updates galore! Was time to get some sound up in this! Picked up a Jensen VM9214 with a weeks worth of use on it. Dvd, Sat Nav, Audio, MP3, Bluetooth, Ipod, Iphone, Ipad etc. Started to wire it up etc. Finished and tested. Went out to the new place which opened up down the road. Pulled out my old amp from my old R31 Unfortunately realizing it is not really up to par for the job, of powering two front speakers and a 1000 subwoofer, I decided to invest in something else. Got the cables. 1000w Amp 1000w Subwoofer 260w Pioneer speakers Time to put it all in this weekend.
Really awesome build dude..big thumbs up for the level of detail.. i think i used to drive past the r33 nearly everyday when it was around.
Thanks guys, yeah was a great car ;( but since I have become so used to the boxy shapes, I don't think I could go back to a 33 again. Some R31 love for the weekend Got started on the install Ran brand new wiring into the doors then fitted the speakers Fitted and with the covers on Exactly what I wanted, clean and tidy and most importantly blackkkkk Progress picture of the Amp and Sub install Couldn't decide if to put it in the boot or under the passenger seat, so figured back of the rear seat is the best location. Easy access and doesn't clutter any space. Will end up covering the boot with panels when time comes, so it looks complete without any metal showing.
Update has been long overdue, lots has happened etc etc My daily is gone Lovely trucks and surprises right before Christmas After sitting under rain and the awesome QLD weather I decided to finally put it into gear, literally as now I had no daily and this had to get on the road by the 5th of December when I go back to work. Meanwhile I had been collecting all sorts of parts Got the flywheel machined New genuine pivot Bushes, seals etc Spigot Box in place ready to be lifted into the car Old rear main New Main in Spigot in Clutch and flywheel New Pivot New gearbox rear Main Brake Pedal cut to size Auto > Manual Getting hungry! - - - Updated - - - Had to get new clutch to fly bolts as I had misplaced some of the old ones
Clutch pedal in Master in In an attempt to fix the random wobble, I assumed that this was the Steering rack bushes so I went ahead and replaced them. Old rack bushes Old v New New throw out - - - Updated - - - Centre Console lid rewrapped Seat head rests interior coming along Semi finished product Still plenty to do, Gearstick lightsaber and starwars overload Will definitely get the steering wheel redone or buy a Nardi Gara Went for a few drives around the block, drove well..until I realized that the wobble I tried to fix remained.. so off came the wheels on the front and what I found.. Enormous bulge on the tire. Lip back on and we are ready for a roadworthy and rego ! AC IS ICE COLD ! Luse out
Woop! Got the roadworthy and rego yesterday! Went for my first cruise with it caught up with a few friends Mini cruise.. I won the 4x4 of the year award...
Back to work as of Monday, first drive to work Finally can get rid of the commodore daily for good, hated that thing with a passion. Detailed the interior after 4 months A bit of inspiration Looking forward to some track action once the suspension is sorted Decided on wheels Rota - RKR 15x9 -0 Front Rota - RKR 15x9-10 Rear (Rear guards getting cut out, so going a bit more aggressive offset) !
