Generally any car with a front mounted engine to RWD Can be drifted :) How easy they are is down to the car etc.

its like the most asked question on here and a thread is started more or less once a day.

so what would you call faily cheap to buy?

fairly cheap to me were talking e30 3 series or e36 obviously not m3 but more 320, 325

mazda mx5's go well, a little underpowered but happy to have the shit kicked out of them

and good old volvo 340's are cheap and work well

s13 200sx... ive had 4 of these.. great skids cars but imo stupidly unreliable with a CA

s14 can be had for 1400 ish quid these days... sr20det sounds crap but go's well and skids perfectly imo... i would say the best bargain.

from there your starting to go up the ladder towards 2.5 / 3k in price and looking at s14a's and gts skylines and everything else skiddable becomes more available as the price rises...

its cheap to initially get a skid car but its not cheap to maintain keeping it running and have a constant supply of drift days etc on tap... really you have to be commited to do it regular

imo get a bmw 3series or an mx5, something you dont mind breaking, weld the diff, strip it out, got a load of tyres for it, go and have the time of your life

Depends on a lot really. Age, money etc, personally i started in a 1.7 volvo 340, went onto Nissan S12 with a CA18, then a Volvo 740 2.3 turbo and now i have an SR20 S14.

If you want to learn good weight transfer and learn to drift without a handbrake, personally i'd go for a volvo, either the 340 or 740, the 740 would probably be easier but still teach you good skills.

My favourite car drift is an r32 lad. im on my 3rd one now and have another in transit from japan.

They aint too bad to run either and can take plenty of abuse.

As other people hav already said its up to the driver how easy a car is to drift or not.

Best cars for drifting, if you are young, and on a budget is the citroen saxo. They can be bought for less than 500 quid sometimes.

At 20 and being a new driver you will pay about a billion pounds for insurance on anything worth driving!

    Realistically:
    Car - £500
Insurance - £2000-3000+ (depending on car, area, etc)
Running costs depends how many miles a year you do and how handy you are with a spanner/ebay
