Hello I’m new to the Nissan stage. Someone has offered me a s14a for £3500. The engine is standard on 170k so soon will need a rebuild. It’s got rust on driver side sill witch needs replacing and arch (drivers side). Also the rear fenders need respraying, The doors don’t lock at all needs rods and clips. The bonnet and boot have holes so needs replacing or patched up, The rev dial bounces, The fuel cap don’t shut and On slant. The rear inside cards ain’t clipped into place hanging off, The battery and alternator belt needs replacing. With all this is it worth the £3500? any advice/help would be great looking to get it today. Many thanks. {} {} {} {} {} {}
Im not expert on this matter so i guess we just have to wait until someone with more knowledge says something.
Before rebuilding the engine because of the 170k on the clock ( which means nothing by the way) most engines have been change numerous times in s bodies. Does it smoke/rattle/knock.... Take a compression tester with you and see what results you get from it. As for the rust. Get underneath and really check it over. If it is just that bit on the sill you can patch it easily or if you really wanted replace the whole sill. Not hard if your handy with a welder. As for the wing is just a bit of bubbling. Fix or replace with another wing. Your find all the bits you need off here/sxoc facebook groups to sort all the other issues quite cheaply If you want a show car DON'T BUY IT.... If you want a drift car then it's a good price in the current market (if it's Just that 1 hole in the sill) And if you aren't scared of a little work.
