Hi everyone, I have just recently put a hydro ebrake in a car with additional brake calipers(dual) on the rear wheel but it doesn't lock up wheels. My setup is: brand new Wilwood 0.7 master cylinder, brand new brake pads CTR, brand new brakes calipers (Mercedes w124), all this connected standalone using PTFE lines and AN3 connectors. Car: Toyota Altezza(Lexus is200) My tyre: 225/45/17 At about 20mph pulling the e-brake as hard as I can(it goes up a little) just slows down the car. I have done bleeding 3 times manually. What it could be? I suppose it because of a large size of master cylinder and i can't make enough pressure, but i can't find out the proof.
Master cylinder size vs caliper piston size. 0.625 is the normal master cylinder size and 0.500 is also available. You can look at making the pivot points on the hand brake closer together, doing this will increase the leverage. Doing either of the above will increase the travel of the lever.
Thanks for the answer, i have tried to make pivot points on the hand brake closer together, but it's not solve the problem. My caliper piston radius is about 35mm(1,37 inch), is there any formula\service that allow to calculate right master cylinder size?
Finally I have changed master cylinder, from 0.7 to 0.625 and it doesn't help. Pulling the e-brake became easier but effect is the same. I have ordered new set of brake pads(previous also was brand new) and if it doesn't help i will burn this fucking car!!! Joking, but then i won't have any idea what to do.
Hey Bud I'm about to pull my hair out as well, I've bled and bled and bled I have -3an hoses as well could it be that not enough fluid is reaching our calipers stock brakes lock up so easily but not the hydro it just slows me down definitely doesn't look up. Let me know if you fi d a solution..I just changed to from a Amazon booster to a wilwood.625 no difference.
