Improving the junk s14 handbrake for free by the weekend, is it possible?

    Hi guys,

    I know the stock s14 handbrake is shite but I don't have the time nor money to buy anything before the weekend so need some quick cheap/free fixes.

    I will be adjusting it (I believe its only adjustable at the lever it self, is this correct?)

    I may also roughen up my pads/chamfer the leading edge in order to get some bite (have grooved discs so this may help)

    May try and grease the sliders so the calipers are moving freely

    Any other suggestions?

    Still got time to order pads and fit them.

    I found yellow stuff pads locked up very well compared to my cheapo Mintex ones.

    Not exactly free but easier then plumbing a hydro in at such short notice?

    What pads do you have?

    Tbh think I fitted cheapo mintex pads, will it be worth changing them or shall I just get on with it?

    Hate to say it but my hydro struggles to lock the mintex pads (and grooved discs) in the dry, doubt you stand any chance with a normal hand brake... :(
