I am wanting to get a custom wrap for my car and want to know what your thoughts are on the legalities. A custom wrap that covers the car in different number plates. Different font's, countries, colours, etc I think it would be really funky and highlight my love for cars and love for travel...... and confuse speeding / traffic cameras. Would my idea work? Is it legal? Technically the cars number plate will remain visible and unaltered.
I dunno about the legality but I cant imagine that looking anything other than awful haha What car are you doing this to?
No I just don't think it would work. You can see a lot of work trucks and lorries with real reflective plates with nicknames or drivers, company information etc on them. None of those throw off LPR cameras and if they did should a human review it the image they would be able to pick out the real number plate. So covering a car in fake plates wont suddenly make yours vanish. But do it anyway and post pics and keep us updated.
