Glad you like it Dan and hopefully it should be showing its face at the weekend, just here now finishing it off
The only way we could mount the turbos was at the front of the engine as there was no room to fit both the exhaust system and manifolds below the engine. Problem then was the old tubbs so they had to be removed to make room for the custom manifolds that we were having built
Postioning the collector to where we was having the turbo fitted and then worked back towrads the engine with the manifolds
Manifolds back completly welded and just ready for the V Band connectors We wanted to keep the engine as lag free as possible and opted fot a pair of GT28R's The plan was to keep the whole exhaust system V Banded and some nice Tial turbo housings we bought from the states, made the job look much neater and also reduced weight
This is insane you Japspeed boys have really raised the bar this year, great custom work on something new
The original location of the power steering pump and alternator on the engine was in the ideal place of where the downpipes needed to run and hit off the chassis rails. The kit that was supplied from Mazworx also included a chassis rail notch which involved cutting in to the chassis rails and as this was against BDC rules we had to fabricate both pumps lower down to clear the chassis rails.
cool, how much ground clearence will you have between the sump and the ground? whats the clearence like around the steering column?
FMIC, we used one of our twin turbo intercoolers and both intakes running on the N/S and collecting together on the OS with a Clarkey special intake pipe and what a work of art he has done with this, one of my favorite parts of the project
