    Updates:

Fixed a cracked manifold. Estimate 500bhp on 1.6 bar now.

Rebuilt r154 with 5th gear from toyota tacoma , (still 3.9 diff) makes for close 1,2,3 4th and a long 5th , 70mph gps is 2350RPM and about 30-35mpg , great for getting to events!

Fresh intermediate plates in the clutch.

usual service stuff , oils , h/brake adjust , etc

Did a bit of bodywork (badly) in major need of some help there

    Done a LOT of drifting.

Cars been on the road a year.

The new 5th gear sounds decent!

Jealous of the amount you're using yours too!

    Looks very good!
The idea of just using the daily driver as a drift car on track, is really exciting. Im looking into doing something similiar, as you would use it a lot more!

Nice car, Nice way of doing Things :)

It's not a daily driver , I think the clutch would drive me insane!
But it is road legal and driven to every even I do , imho it's the best way to make it reliable!

That's pretty smart. Might look to do that if/when my R154 blows up.

    Well , update time .

Ages ago I bought Tobi's lock kit he had up on here

Consisted of heyman800ps , japspeed kinked tension rods , superlap 25mm RCA , uras tie rods etc and camber arms. 25mm longer arms all round

    All BNIB (unused)

Fitted the items and have terrific steering lock and feel.

Did a shakedown , and two drift taxi days ( one at pod , one at brands hatch) plus a Dwyb half day.

Third taxi day on this setup and I was setting up a small 2nd gear kidney track at santa pod for the BMW show. All of a sudden the car lurched left and my front wing exploded!

I was like WTF and pulled off into the pits , genuinely shocked as I was only doing about 40 sideways to get a line out on the Tarmac!

My near side wheel was moving forward and backwards in the arch, obviously had gone backwards into the wing!

Looking under the car after pulling the front bumper and wheel off I found this!

    it's snapped!

Pulled out the spanners and investigated further!

    WTF
Look at the weld! I'm surprised it's lasted this long!

Needless to say I was blowing my top , but needed to get home! So off to Steve!

    Got me home!

So I'm not really one to rip into companies and products . But for health and safety if you have any of these products fitted to your car , check em for cheap shitty welding.
The week before this i was initiating at speed at a show within 5-10 metres of a crowd , makes my skin crawl what could have happened.
What really took the piss was when I got In touch with said company , they knew that there was 'some' dodgy welds on some of their arms and offered no recompense or help.

ANYWAY , this left me with a need for some quality tension rods that would accommodate my lock ASAP

Overnight parts from up garage , Japan

Ikeya formula , second hand .

Not cheap , neither was the fast EMS .
But I wanted rid of my current tension rods ASAP!

Other updates are : I've shortened the intake pipe from filter to turbo and make a heat shield for more zuututututu noises.

Fitted subframe collars on the rear but still undecided about these!

    Todo list:
    Bodywork
    Bodywork
    Bodywork
It's looking a bit tired now after a year!

    Japshow was excellent fun!
