White wheels and bumper extensions all the way. Not sold on the steely look at all, looks like a Russian taxi.
Yea, possible future plans.... Starting to look into Single Turbo conversions now too, just seeing whats involved etc. Cheeky 400hp would do it nicely with a smaller, faster spooling Turbo!
Have a look at Steve's JZX90 MKII build thread for Single turbos, his sounds like a train! Seems to come in strong with a big Holset.
No worries, will have a goose. I cant afford it at the moment, more of a future plan than anything. Still trying to get this Eunos road worthy to get back out there. May well be planning a trip next year to come up to you guys Small care package in today, Bride Mats and a Turbosmart Boost Gauge. Just needs a nice Wood Nardi now... {}
Took delivery of some Cusco rear Top Mounts, not quite the same as the HKS ones, but the material is almost 3x times thicker, so plenty of strength in them. Although I had to modify them to accept the HKS Bearing carriers, wasnt too much work though, {} Couple of coats of Paint later and they're ready to fit, {}
Struts just landed back with me after being re-gassed. No leaks, and the rears are ready to go back on. Fronts are almost there, just waiting on the top mounts for them now. {}
Hey man! Cool updates, not keen on the steel wheels though haha. I thought ive seen this car around, i popped into your work place few weeks ago now for some rays 90 degree valves (they didnt fit my SSR Minervas but the rubber seals came in handy lol) HKS Hi-Power Silent? I have White TE37s 18x9.5 et12 and et22 which would look awesome on this and they may be for sale still...
Thanks bud, Yea, Steelies werent a good choice looking back, but I have something else lined up. Wasnt myself you dealt with then lol. HKS Exhaust is a Hi-Power 409 system. Thanks for the offer on the TE37's, but I have landed on some brand new Rays that we have as old stock at work, so already snapped them up. Just need some Tyres, which I'm picking up late October.
Popped the bonnet the other day to check Oil etc, looked a sorry state, so decided to give her a clean. I do love how clean this thing is... {} After looking through some old clearance stock lists at work, I stumbled upon a couple of pairs of old Rays Wheels. Not bad for less than £300! 18" Gram Lights 57 Maximum Pro Time Attacks and 57 Motorsport G07WT's both fitted with new Rays Red Valves. {} Just ordered some sticky NS2-R Tyres to go on them, shouldl be with me the end of the month.
Front Mounts are all done, my colleague at work has a Lathe, so turned down the mount centres to accept the HKS Bearing Carriers. {} {} Got them in the Pillar Drill, fitted some new ARP Bolts to hold the Bearings in place. Finally bolted them up, taken ages it feels, but all on and sitting nicely. {} {} Enjoying it so much, I decided to change out the HKS Mushroom Filter for a JR Cylindrical one. The HKS one wasn't sitting 100% and was a little short of the cold air feed. JR one seems to fit much better. {}
Well I havent updated this in a while... I had it up for sale to put towards grown-up commitments OR something with a manual Gearbox. Couldnt do it, not many of these around at all and seeing as she is the most practical Rwd Japanese Car I have owned, it probably isnt the best call... So, moving forwad, I got my Wheels and Tyres on. Fitted them with Rays Nuts and Hub Rings. Might aswell fit the best as its my first time owning a branded Wheels. Considering they are Cast and not Forged, they are still very lightweight. {} However, I wasnt kept on the Black Wheels, so made the call to get them re-painted in Silver. Did the lettering on the Tyres, but i'm not so sure on its look either, so may well be scrubbing that off.... {} Still, it looks much better. {} {} Now, its off the road thanks to a complete failure of the drivers rear strut. After some strange noises and a quick look underneath, its leaked its Oil and the complete strut shaft is missing. My guess is, its sheared from the top mount, or the thread has failed. Still not looked into it yet though... So 2018's further modifications and repair list goes as follows; Repair/replace rear Struts Fit Kaaz LSD Fit Cusco 7 point Roll Cage Fit Bride Bucket Seat and Seat Rail Fit Transmission Oil Cooler Replace Front Left Lower Arm Replace Passenger Front Window Regulator Fit Nardi Steering Wheel Get Spare Wheels/Tyres for Drifting Drift Drift Drift
I like it - plans sound like a good way forward. Where did you source the exhaust from? I'm after one for my X100 chaser.
Finally had a chance to take a look at this rear Strut failure. Looks like the Strut shaft has sheared just below the threaded section where it bolts up to the Strut top. Fuck! See below grainiy iPhone Pic... {} Well, kinda gutted to say the least, given how well they turned out etc. Sadly I can't get this part, so time to add Coilovers to that shopping list...
First parts delivery of 2018! {} Bride FO Seat Rail and a Limited Edition Cusco/Bride Colaboration VIOS III Bucket Seat. Cant wait to get this bolted in
Got the Seat and Rail together, such a good looking seat, {} {} Promptly got it home and bolted in. Will be keeping the stock seat belt for now as I dont have a Cage yet and I still need to use the back seats. {} Its a snug fit, literally like wearing the Car lol
Well, the Car is still off the road and its killing me..! But, as the arse end is still up in the air, I decided to pull the diff and get a KAAZ 2-Way Super-Q LSD in there. All out and waiting for the new Bearings and Seals to get here from Japan. {} {} Also got round to un-boxing up the new Cusco rear Dampers! Fortunately, I ordered the upper Spring Seat adapotor plates from Cusco which allows me to use them with the OE Toyota Top Mounts. All I needed to do was trim the factory dust boot off with a stanley knife. {} The HKS Springs are the same diameter and free length too, so thats saved me a little. Unfortunately the HKS Spring Seat and Locking Rings dont fit the the Cusco Dampers, so I had to shell out for those, but arriving any day with my diff bearings and seals... As a bonus, I forgot they have adjustable Dampening!
