JZZ30 Soarer from New Zealand *2017 update*

hey, figured i'd make a new thread with this car. some may remember me from ages ago. but i doubt it. i was building this car - http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-car-projects-builds/94371-onevia-new-zealand-56k-murder.html but i've since sold that to someone else and have found myself with this soarer. im building up a 1.5jz for it. expecting 300kw at the wheels. got a garett TA3410 turbo for it, its running an R154 and obviously a locked diff. its also got r34 gt-t front brakes. lots of little pointless shit. will be getting v-mount setup too. obviously paint the kit too. but words are boring so i'll just post a shit ton of pictures instead.

Nice job, tell me more about the Skyline brakes, straight bolt on? What disc size?

r34 brakes were a almost bolt on dealie. they are the perfect offset and one hole lines up perfect on the calipers to the soarer hub using the r34 disk (310mm) the mount that dosent fit - which is the trailing mount, i cut and welded into a new position, was only about 10mm out. i feel confident doing this because the mount that gets cut/welded has a compressive force on it. it is not the mount that takes the majority of the force. was all welded properly too. main reason why i used r34 stuff is that these calipers and disks were $150. supra calipers alone are about $800 - and thats if you can even get them.

edit- they have also been put to work hard on the track and show zero signs of any problems. they were the single best upgrade i did to the car. the standard brakes were SO SHIT, they would cook themselfs at the first sign of use. now with the r34 calipers, race pads and race fluid they are amazing and do not fade at all.

well a kit was always on the cards. and im a panel beater so its not really a big deal to take the kit to work and get it painted.

this is probably the best picture i've got. all the offsets are perfect to bolt it up. no washers to space it or anything.
