made up engine loom. its completely heatshrunk. what a mission that was.

made this funky bracket to mount coils behind the firewall
    [IMG]

also picked up a pair of spare ssr type c-s.

now had to prep and paint...one of my mates dented the rear gaurd so had to fix that
    [IMG]

    prepping engine bay
    [IMG]

cleanly fitting a vent to my bonnet. took a while to make sure it was right
    [IMG]

did some deatailed future proof buisness like chucking the throttle in the lathe and cuttng a groove for an o-ring. sure as hell beats having goo or a paper gasket
    [IMG]

made up a new guide pin for the osgiken pull push conversion kit. made from a nut and a bolt. original had its thread cracked (where the rust is)

made some high tensile studs for intake manifold. was just using mild threaded rod before.

thermal plenum gasket. also custom power steer and rad overflow in the pic
    [IMG]

    knocked up and exhaust
    [IMG]

made some moulds up for ducting
    [IMG]

    laid some carbon
    [IMG]

    viola
    [IMG]

took it to get tuned. made 280hp ATW on 10psi @4000rpm before the clutch decided it would rather slip and piss me off.

brought the shitbox home and took a pic
    [IMG]

    This is actually amazing!

Did the ECU/loom come with those new plugs? Got to make my own loom aswell.

Is the clutch old and worn? 280whp isn't a lot and it looks like an OS Giken unit (twin plate??) same as mine.

I'll keep an eye on this :)

the ecu simply came with the wires. all 3 sensors came with their own plugs (air temp, map sensor and oil pressure) the new coils and injectors came with their own brand new plugs too. the only re-used plugs in the whole engine loom are alternator excitor, water temp, crank and cam position sensors and a throttle position sensor from a nissan leopard and that is literally the whole engine loom.

the clutch is annother fun part. i always tell people to never ever buy a used clutch. and in a moment of brilliance what do i buy? a bloody used clutch. its just worn and it slips. and no 280hp is almost exactly half of what this engine will be running. i want just under 600hp. the main limitation will be the turbo. its actually a small turbo. especially for the 3l bottom end. but thats okay as i want a super tourqey always on boost engine. it made 10psi (wastegate spring pressure) at something rediculous like 2500rpm. tuner says it will have wicked low down power but choke up the top end. which is fine.
