One SICK s13!!! I like engine choice, but would have been more simple to fit it into an E30! And just as nice, I think! But S13 is ok too... Will be interesting to see about the rocker arm issue, for how long they will stay without breaking..
I'am thinking now,is there any space left for a standart intake manifold? if not, can you have any space to lower the engine??
That's an awesome build! Best of luck with it. I noticed the exhaust manifold branches differ too much in length. Might this not cause loss in performance as exhaust pulses will arrive into collector at different times making the flow less smooth? If anyone could shed some light on this matter I'd most grateful.
this is by far one of the best builds i have ever seen in a while, good luck with the car mate top job
This is a great build !! lots of fun. My friend runs the same engine in a 735 with a t04e turbo and a log type exhaust manifold into the standard inlet manifold. It makes 390bhp and 500 ft/lbs of torque,so youll easily make the 400,and weight wont be an issue with torque like that He had issues with oil controll,and had to have an external drain from the head back to the sump, and some baffles in the sump. Thought id let you know so you can think about it before finding out !! Heres a pic. {} {}
.. my god! thats gona be a beast! as everyone else has said your skills are top notch! your balls must be fukin huge aswell! haha cant wait to see more, gud luck fella
Thank you, guys! I haven´t done anything to the car for almost 2 months now. I had to clear my mind a little bit, just think about something else for a while. But now I feel that the motivation is coming back......slowly, but its coming! So soon I will come with an update here....... /niklas
Okay, lets start this project again. I have moved to a new garage with my team, much more fun to work when your not alone. I have had much time to plan the project during this autumn, here are some of the things I have decided to do: - build a new exhaust manifold - Larger turbo and wastegate ( if someone buy the ones I already have) - Make the wheel arches bigger. - Fix more turningangle. and of course, continue with those things that left when I stopped last. The Toyota Aristo cooler finding its place into the enginebay. It`s way to big to fit in the s13 but after some modifications on the frame it works. Then removing the old wheel arches. And the new ones mounted. Still left to weld them properly...... A sheet metal worker did some reinforcements to the plates before i welded them together, just to get more strength to the metal. to be continued.......
Continued with the upper braces to the cooler. Then making some extra space for the intercoolerpipe and airfilter pipe. Now time for giving the s13 more steeringangle. This is how it is from standard. Modified wheelhubs, just cut the original mountings and move them further to the centre of the hubs to get it to turn more and also a little bit out to get the wheel to turn as much as the other. But when I´ll do that the steering rods went to short. So I had to extend them with 5 cm. Well, that is how it went. Much better steeringangle than original!
thats amazing mate .love this project its diffrent .you where brave to take it on. wish i had those fabrication skills lol keep us posted wouldnt mind seein a video of this in action when its finished
