It also depends if it is transferable or not, if it isn't then it aint worth shit.

If the car isn't MOT'd and declared sorn. The car has to be ''on the road'' to transfer the plate

Indeed. But chances are, if you just bought an E46 M3, it's able to be put on the road.

    Tnx ppl,

this is some kine of dateless plate, he bought e46 from UK and car isn't MOT'd since 2008. In V5 says transferable....

It seems its worth a lot bcs plates wit 3 letters and number 1 worth even several times more than the same 3 letter plate with number 2 or three....

I don't know if I can trust articles on web.... this kind of trading is new to me...

It's worth 1000+ if you could get it removed, but with no MOT and if the car is out of the UK now (it sounds like it is), you can't sell it, it's worthless now.

It's registered to a 2011 BMW X3 3.0D SE at the moment so I guess it might have been transferred off the car previous to selling it.

if it is sellable there is a compressed air company based in Dundee called BRE the owner may be interested.

pretty sure he's got a BRE plate on his car currently.

As Adam says above. The registration has already been transferred before the vehicle was sold:

You may have a piece of plastic and an old V5 with that reg on but the registration definitely doesn't belong to you.
