awesome thread matey, It really pushes me to get another s13, yet I cant blag a student loan! But anyway, car looks awesome, and it was grat to read and look at, such a shame about your good efforts on the kit and then smashing it up, but oh well. All the best buddy.
Right update. Well not much of an update really, but I did go drifting at the start of the month First time at Pod in like 1 an half years. Was really fun, but the poxie turbo gasket was blowing and I had a nail in one of the front tyres but it didnt stop me from having a good time. And thanks to Blackett Photography for the photos. And another one which I really love. So now its back in the garge to sort out the gasket which work will start tomorrow on. But I did get some new front tyres which I happy with. Testing my friend's Rotas out which I really like. We are building up a collection and need a lot of tyre changing for the next drift day. Also got myself a new daily a couple months back which is in mint condition. Really trying not to send money on it but its not working.
Dude, i have been on drift forums for about 2 years now and have to say, this was the best read ever, i had my heart set on a 320 bimmer but now you made me want 1 of these. Well done 5 stars.
Cheers for the nice words. Darren when did you get a R32, i though you got a S13. Are you planning on going Pod anytime soon. Me and Ed will be at the one on the 7th Jan.
you havent replaced ur bumper since awesomefest have you ? lol only just staying together now i like it ha ha
I think its about time I done a little update, but not a lot has happened really. SO after the Pod day, the turbo gasket was blowing like crazy so that was the first thing to sort out before the next drift day. Also heat wrapped the manifold to stop things from melting as it gets soooo heat. Didnt really do a great job of it, is a real pain in the ass. All back in one, with lots and lots of locking this and that to stop it from happening again.?????? So as I was putting it all back, I ended up cross threading the water hole on the engine block like a dick. So it had to be helicoiled, which Mr Chunk done for me, but it did mean I missed the miss Pod day. But I guess thats what you get for being a tool like me and not being carefull. So that was that, I fucked off on holiday for nearly a month, but did get some drifting action while in New Zealand They were slow as shit and not really like the real thing, but was good fun though. When I got back from holiday had a nice and working car waiting for me at Chunks place, so went to DWYB again. Here is a vid of some footage filmed from inside my car. The tires were going on this one. And another one with me and Ed in his blue S14a. Will upload more stuff later.
Also forgot to mention about the new tyres at the front made a huge difference and had some much more control. Anyways here are some more drifty pics. Will be going to Lydden Hill in May which should be great fun, will be my first time there. And after that need to start sorting the car out properly. Things that need doing: Body work.... new kit and make the are look nice and clean. Lock.... need to look into doing some locking mods, just need to see which way to go on this, ie driftworks knuckles or custom job. MAP...... really need to get the car set up better as I think it has soooooo much more power it can give. so need to see where to get this done too. Safety gear.... get all the cut off and extinguisher stuff installed. and the last one....... get a BDC license for next year. For the rest of this year just need to go and get as much drifting in as possible. But just got a new toy in my life which is stopping me from working/spending money on the S13.
I have just read this from start till end and wow you have inspired me to do so much to my s13 your car is great congrats, nod some good drifting there
Cheers guys Manage to get most of our tyres sorted this weekend ready for Lydden Hill in 2 weeks time, Just need to change the oil and off we go. Lots of meat left on these. And seeing what 19s look like on the car.
Just a little update. Went to Lydden Hill the other week and the time of my life, such a wicked track and have learnt a hell of a lot within the day. So I think I killed my gearbox a little bit. It now doesnt go into reverse and looks like the oil was leaking same how, will need to have a look at it. But anyways some picys from the day from various people enjoy
Was at lydd watching, you were tearing up that first bend, the one where you start off, one of my favourite car/drivers of the day!
