Love this car! I have owned a few MB's over the years and the C230k's are such great value; eBay has never been kind to me when I've bid on them though.......I bet the red helped (even though the colour wouldn't put me off one bit)

Any issues with the transmission when you have been giving it all of the coal?

Had a rummage around the shed and found a pretty much unused Garrett boost gauge and faux carbon universal A-pillar pod.
Seeing as Sports came covered in faux carbon as standard its fine by me, and a bit of trimming etc and it fits well enough for me.

Shame Garrett boost gauges are as unreliable as their turbos it seems, FFS, unless im living underwater, this aint reading right...

Been fucking about drilling holes and removing dash bits to finish wiring in the water inj too, but still not finished, ffs...

Sounds like mine, but though I've been around the A46/M6 Warwick/Coventry way going to Brunters and back a few times, I dont think I've been near Banbury in it yet?

And yeah the plates are postcoded and road legal, from Dubmeister, have a look on their website, not even much money.

Thanks :) For a car I just bought as a beater I have properly fell in love with it, does everything soo well, way better than a lot of the more popular and common cars Ive had. So much so I've barely touched the RX7 over xmas and just been fucking with this thing.

If I go stupid fast with the shifts I can sometimes beat the synchro, but I can on any car. Aside from that its mind, even flat shifting and it is fine.

Well I rigged up the water injection on a temporary switch just to see if it was worth my while.
    It wasnt.
    So I binned it off.
Difference wasnt dramatic enough to fuck about with, so removed it all, 2min, job done.

On another note, my shiz electrical 'skills' (more like me not taking much notice and leaving a live wire hanging while removiong it) ended in a burnt hand, a burnt seatbelt, a burnt piece of bucket seat (not a bit you really notice, thankfully), and almost a burnt car, but my burnt hand helped me avoid that bit... fucking hurts though...

    Great write-up mate, good work!

Any idea's why the water injection made such little difference? And have you got any other idea's about cooling the intake temps? Change the FMIC and try fitting it somewhere else?

Fair play to you dude, this is my sort of build, loving it so far, will be watching this.
Nice to see something other than the typical ;)

Do Kaaz not make a diff, or take one from a C36/43 AMG if you can find one/if the have one?

Awwww this is not fair,i raped one of these as a 'company car' for a while and totally loved it.You are now making me want to do terrible things to make enough money to buy one again. Try CA Automotive for a diff, they specialise in BMW and Merc performance parts. I used to work for Mercedes and im still in contact with alota friends that still work there,il try and find out if theres a service setting to turn the ESP off,i know how to do it for the newer C-Class but never tried it on a 202Chassis..

Conveluted path from filter to actual supercharger inlet most likely. Its loads of twists and turns and shit where the water may just pool rather than do anything worthwhile.
And the effort to fit the jet at the s/c inlet i really cant be bothered with, as the other upgrades have made it surprisingly fast anyhow, and much stronger at high rpm than before.
Im now seeing 10psi at high rpm on a faulty boost gauge thats showing 5psi vac with the engine off. Wether thats 10 or 15psi, its more than the 7 it was, and feels it too.
Fitting a big front mount is what id like, esp as they cheap as chips, but i really cant see where i can tbh.

Cant find anyone at all so far! And seems other models have bigger diffs? Its really hard to be sure tbh as the Merc enthusiasts, despite being keen and millions of em, seem to have no fucking idea at all what they are doing.

If you can that would be good, I heard its possible, im certain it is, but like everything ive heard for the merc, the info is so confusing as 99% of them have never done it, just recycling info others have told em on the net, so its all bloody chinese whispers.

There is a c36 diff on german eBay. Not to cheap at 400 euros. But you can find one if you want.

    Eaton M62 I think mate.

But does it even fit? Thats the thing, I have no idea. And doubt a stock LSD is any good at all tbh, want a decent aftermarket one that locks properly.

Thats the things, if you want a proper locking diff you'll have to pay, but i reckon on a car like yours it would be much nicer than a welder.

    Cool project whatever

The age of 190s I'd bet they are plated and so you could sort them quite easily. If it fits.

Been reading a bit on the web and the information you seek does indeed seems to be hard to find. Can't even find if there was ever a after market lsd (or any lsd for that matter) for a w202 c230. :\

Tathan- Certain 190 ones had a plated diff, and its actually possible to make adjustable with a lever from in car, a great bit of kit. Wether it fits a W202 shape I cant find out though! Some say yes, some say no, and seems nobody has ever actually tried!

Neils- Thats the trouble mate, its impossible in the Merc world, as though they all seem to be super keen on tuning, none of them seem to have a clue, so its all chinese whispers with contradicting info and nobody with practical experience! At the start I went by info I was told by the people on forums, and every bit of it turned out to be wrong :( So I've gone it alone with bloody good results so far!

The diff though, thats a bit big of a job to go with what I think like I have with other stuff so far, and im drawing a blank so far.... :(

    hey stavros...

have you already tried getting infos from german merc forums?
I guess most people on that forums will be complete idiots but maybe the few that really know something about the cars will also be able to speak english properly ^^

so maybe you should give it a try...

    nice built so far

    greets
    max
