Yea, he tried a few companies asking if they would map with larger turbo, they said no as they don't know how well the engine holds up with more power. not too bad for a 1.4 though i thought.

was me being silly, thinking the charger runs off the alternator belt. (really clueless on chargers)

Fair enough mate, you do seem to know your shizz, i'll take your word for it, if/when i get the merc i'm going to get rid of all the crap it doesn't need, or what i can gather it doesn't need. HATE things running vaumn lines, which don't really need to be their!
I'll look into setting up water injection, as you said, the std tank is 5.5ltrs and has a spare port for injector (they blatently want you to do it) aha

Cars for sale i think stavros, on here?

Old Skool thread bump.... Just looking at buying one of these as a toy. What you reckon on them? they seem quite fun tbh.

Loads of lock, good power, can chuck them around and they look badass as well. Sold mine to Ricky Emery and think he still has it. Can probably pick up a good one for £800 and under now as well I reckon.

Awesome cars. Way better than e36s imo.
Reliable at 450bhp on stock internals too if you wanted to be stupid, lol.

I'd agree with the e36 statement stav. What would you have to do to get to 450bhp?! Turbo/supercharger combo of doom?

Turbo only would be the way I'd go if it wasn't for drifting, just as its easier.

Mosselman (I think it's spelt) in the Netherlands (i think, or Germany, forget that too) used to make a turbo manifold for them.
I bought the last one they had kicking around the place direct from them. Sold it to someone on here actually.

You could twincharge it for sure with that manifold, I checked and there deffo room. For a drift car that'd be perfection as they are WAY faster/smokier than the power level suggests, purely down to the mega response thanks to the supercharger.
Mine was what, 230bhp and 230lbft it got on the rollers I think it was, and raced plenty of things with way more power and kept up, and the drift pics show it was way smokier than a 230bhp car had any right to be lol.

There is a CLK230 Kompressor in the UK, around your sort of way if I remember rightly, that is something like 465bhp on standard internals running a GT3076 (no supercharger).
    It's blue, and looks standard.
Pretty sure they had it to over 550 or something but turned it down as didn't know how strong the internals were. They (most anyhow, if not all, cant remember now) have forged internals as standard.

The standard lock on these has to be one of the best on a factory car! I was amazed at the 0 point turns you can pull in them

Hi Stavros. I am new to this site, came across it while researching mods for the 230k. I ve got one of these engines (96k) on the floor waiting to go into my 1993 E200 W124 estate. I have already put on E500 suspension all round with a SL600 front roll bar (30mm). also running E500 ltd wheels, and upgraded brakes. the 230k should bolt straight in as its the same engine. really interested in your bit about the electronic dump valve. is it really useless? does the ECU know or "play up" when its not connected? I thought about ditching the intake system and replacing with a cold feed and good filter, and then piping straight from supercharger to intercooler. do you see any problems? I have a larger intercooler from a W210 diesel and hope to fit a different pulley , so aiming for 230bhp without ECU upgrade

When I disconnected it on the two cars I had, the ECU seemed to take no notice of it at all.

You will need a big dump valve or two to do the same job if you choose to run without it though, as I ended up with boost pipes coming off when you shut the throttle.

In all honesty, unless there's a reason not to, you may as well run with it fitted.

230bhp will be easy, mine got about that with a standard pulley, standard exhaust, and standard intercooler.

'ello mate, any chance you could sum your power mods up in a brief list? Basically, how did you get 226bhp without a remap or pulley? I'm lazy as fuck and a bit dumb at times (no to mention I'm not a native English speaker), so had a hard time following the thread but I have a similar car (CLK 230k) and looking forward to a bit more power, especially if achievable on a low budget.

    Ta,
    Gab

also would be grateful for any info on power mods, i followed what you did and puled out all the mesh bits in the induction system, threw away the airbox and put a filter on the suck bit and have just left the blow bit, well blowing i guess. you can probably tell i have no idea but i will say it sounds same as yours on your you tube video.

Auto-retro, did you feel any improvement power-wise? After removing the mesh and airbox.

Cool, thanks. I might give those mods a try, just to see how it feels, but since I don't have a heated garage (or a garage at all!), and they don't make too much of a difference, I'll just wait until the temp gets a little more friendly.
