    Right guys,

The GF wants to buy a house and i want to keep my new rx7..so i've gotta sell stuff.:cry:

This is a bike that i've been doing up for 5 years.. so far its cost me about £1200 but im willing to let it go for £500. (i've spent £600 on parts alone)

Im going to put it on ebay soon but thought i'd stick it here first.

While this bike is abit older than newer ones, its bloody cheap considering the resto spec and will get over anything you throw at it...ditchs, logs, hills CARS !! i really am gutted to sell this but the Rx7 needs a rebuild..and i need to save for a house

Picture before i started the resto. The bike is currently more built up that this. it has the swinging arm in place and the radiator. It just needs the odd part and then bolting back up.

and then running it.. .i've never even started it ! :(:(

Spec that i'll be sticking on the ebay add

Gas Gas 1992 Contact GT25 Trials Bike GasGas Project or Spares

    Hi,

Up for auction is my Gas Gas project.

I’ve had this bike for 7 years and have been rebuilding it for the past four years. However having too many projects and wanting to buy a house with the girlfriend means that I really should sell it.

This bike is 60% built up but pretty much 99% of the parts are here to build it back up and many are new ! the money I’ve spent on the engine is mad.

I have numerious exploded diagrams and workshop images that will help you build this bike back up.

    Spec:

    Chassis/body
    - Frame sandblasted, bleadblasted and then acid dipped
    - Frame powercoated silver then laqueered
    - Swinging arm wet and dryed and polished with autosol
    - Dog bones have had brand new bearings installed
    - Swinging arm has had brand new needle bearings installed
    - Wheels, cleaned and polished with useable tyres
    - Gold renthal handle bar
    - Front forks are currently in pieces. I have exploded diagrams of these so they can be put back together, however I took them apart so that new teflon bushes could be matched from R&T Trials.
    - All the plastics are included including an all important rear mudguard which are prone to breaking
    - Two petrol tanks, one has been sanded down ready for painting

Engine (right A LOT of work done here)
    - New piston installed
    - Bore has been acid dipped and then a new nikasel coating applied to match the piston
    - New conrod kit including main and little end bearings – installed on crank and then alligned
    - New main bearings installed in the crank casing for the crank
    - New engine gasket kit used, for the bore and engine rebuild
    - Many of the engines bearings were renewed. (many visits to hayley bearings to examine and replace the bearings. (a number of gearbox bearings were replaced including the front sproket bearing)
    - New o-rings for the cyinderhead (aka a head gasket)
    - Had the Magneto rewired however I had problems with it so a second one was bought (however bits from each need to be used as the new one doesn’t have the coil for the radiator fan)
    - Engine block painted red
    - Cylinder bore painted with clear VHT engine paint
    - New front and rear sproket included
    - I think I bought a replacement gear selector (not sure but there is one included)

This engine has never even been started ! So if you have a GasGas contact, this engine would drop straight in and would make a perfect upgrade.

I also have the handle bars, wheels, foot pegs etc etc boxes and boxes of spares.

It really is with a heavy heart that I have to sell this. However I’ve just bought an Rx7 (as a project and im supposed to be getting a house with the girlfriend so cant justify it just sitting in the garage)

Any questions give me a call

Yeah i used B&B road and trials for some of my parts but going to john shirt is the best bet because he's the distributor. (and was cheaper that B&B )

    No takers?

I really do feel that 500 is a bargin and the more phone calls i get from 15 year olds less i want to sell it.

Oh and i forgot to mention it has a new exhaust can and back shocker !

    Forgot to add

Bike is located in Pontefract, West Yorkshire - WF9

It also comes with - Brand new rear mono shocker and new exhaust can (which cost me over £90)

    Bits needed to finish

    -Clutch lever
    -Oils (various)
-Fork bushes (or not bother but i've stripped the forks)
    -brake pads?
-maybe a cover for the throttle mechanism
-an airfilter (or reuse and clean the old one)
-New rubber intake manifold would be good. Buts the current one has been repaired with epoxy

Depends how far you want to go with it...

    - new wheel bearings?...

And anothre note.. i really really dont want to sell it. But the rx7 wants a rebuild ... well thats what i keep telling myself.
