The exhaust ports before, during and after. As you can see they’re not even straight and very small. I opened them out a bit and highly polished them, removing the lip where the valve seats open out into the ports.

Next up was removing the blob at the top of the chambers near the spark plugs and polishing the chamber tops. These were heavily coated in carbon build up. Unfortunately I couldn’t remove all the putting in the casting as this would have altered the capacity of each cylinder. But a polish up is better than they were.

Next up was the inlet ports. These weren’t quite as bad as the exhaust ports so they were opened out slightly, casting marks removed and then scrubbed to 240 grit.

Back to the main topic of this thread.

I’m not entirely sure where I’m going from here. There’s a few more bushes to replace here and there and refresh the engine once I’ve finished the other car.
I set out on the road with no real intentions of what I wanted.

There’s plenty on the car I feel I could probably do better, get better results by buying expensive parts but I feel a sense of satisfaction to know that a lot of this car I have fabricated myself and it has never been handed to someone to carry out work on it.

I’ve surprised myself with what an idiot in a shed can achieve if you set your mind to it.

I like Starlets and have had 3 EP82's myself over the years, but why is this on driftworks? Unless you're gonna RWD convert it and come drifting??
