I thought it was about time that I started a build thread for my SWB TT manual, as my old LWB TT manual build was a big fat failure (read: ended up getting cut up into bits on my driveway and carted off to the scrappy in the back of a pikey's transit van!!) I figured that this time, rather than give a step by step commentary of its progress (which can be depressing when progress comes crashing to a halt) this time I decide that I'd build it first and when it was pretty much ready to hit the track, only then would I write it all up afterwards.. Here's the old girl as of yesterday afternoon, a few minor jobs left but pretty much 99% ready to rock: (big thanks have to go to 'Monster' and Whifbitz for some really nice parts at very generously low prices) *I'm currently running a tidy VG30DETT that had been tinkered with in Japan, I'll run this until I kill it this Summer by which time I should have finished re-building the forged lump (below). ASD hydro imported from the US, I opted for this as it's the same one that 'D-Mac' (Darren Mcnamarra) was running in his AE86, so would assume that it's pretty decent The clutch swap was long over due thanks to a few motorway/duel carriageway encounters that effectively killed my old one
seriously nice spec dude, loving the hydro handle and the buckets look pretty cool.. i cant help but think it would look really wide and low de spoilered though
Cheers bud You could be right mate, I'll see how I get on with it as it is and then give it a go without. SWB zeds are really snappy on the limit so I'll see what difference it makes.
i like the front bumper for one reason, it has purpose, it looks like every hole/vented area is there for a reason, which is sick, other than that it looks abit max power. extreme spec though, this will eat tyres, good luck mate
Look's like the sort of thing the villain would drive in an early 90s action film. Not that that's a bad thing.
That looks sweet!!! I love it. Almost exactly how I wanted mine to look. Cant wait to see more z32's drifting, we will take over the world
Hey Matt, yours looked the nuts down at Castle Combe the other week mate, proper fast entry's and definately not shy at shredding rubber either!! I'm just chuffed that I've eventually got this one sorted how I want it, as the other one was just 'FAIL' from the off...it just took me a while to realise it It'd be good to get some z32 twinning going once I've got my own skills up to scratch Good luck for the rest of the season bud
cheers mate, yeah twinning would be cool but we can do better than that because in my drift team SkidRoh both me and Alex Law have z32's, his isnt up to bdc spec yet but he still drifts it when he can. Do some triple z32 drift trains!!!! Where did you get your perspex rear window for your old red 2+2??, really need to sort mine out as it weighs about 3.6 tonnes lol. Also with it being a short wheel base you should be fine drifting it as Michael Scherr uses a shorty over in germany. Sure you must have seen his vids. Like the fast and furious remake of drifting up the spiral part of a multi story car park...lol
Getting there slowly but surely Not sure whether this will be better used for skidding or grip so I'm going to give it a day or two of laps at Cadwell and Castle Combe to see what sort of times I can get with it. There's not a lot of the original car left so it's whole new territory for me and it could prove to be a big pile of dog turd on track?!? I'll get some vids up when I've got something worth showing...
It's a weird one stav because in pictures I actually agree with you, I prefer it without the graphics, but when I look at it in the metal it definately looks better with them. There are more decals to go on it yet because we've managed to bag a handful of decent sponsors from a variety of fields (and mostly companies that we've either partnered with on contracts or companies that we've built a rapor with over the years) Oracle (SP) Ltd are the main sponsor with technical support provided by Hereford Tyres (Hunter alignment/tyre supplier), Mikina Precision Engineering (CNC gucci test bits), J&R Recovery (most of the mechanical work), T&S Auto Services (Electrical work) and Chaos/Hereford Muay Thai (and MMA Universe in the pipeline on the proviso that the board give it the go ahead) Ref the white rims chief, I'll get some close up shots once I've finished wet and drying them and given them their third coat I'm just going to enjoy this whilst I've got it this Summer and do with it whatever I fancy, be that skid it/grip or most likely roll the fucker on it's first shakedown!! Would definately be good to get to some DWYB days in the next few months though
